Kenmore 98702 Stacked Washer/Dryer Questions & Answers
No drainage, Sound in Spin/Rinse Cycle
You may have a broken pump belt, or belt may have fell off pump pulley. Another possibility is that you have a bad clog before the pump keeping water from draining. Your machine will agitate because this is a separate belt. Good Luck Friend.
Washer will not stop!
call a service technician to get a proper diagnosis and quote then decide to fix or junk
Washer agitates but will not spin. Burning smell coming from motor
The water pump could be stuck, or broken so the pulley on the pump is not spinning, while the belt is, which gives you the burning smell. Could also mean the motor is overheating giving you the burning smell. You will have to open the back and observe whats happening while its running. Just keep your hands clear while its working.
TROUBLESHOOT TIPS
I don't know where you have your washing machine but can't you just put the drain hose in the tub, or toilet to see if it drains? if either of those aren't close enough to dump discharge water into from your spin cycle, you may be able to add a short piece of clear tubing at the end of the existing hose using whatever connector you need to use, then put the hose back into your drain. This way you should be able to see if the pump is working. You can usually hear/feel water being discharged out of the discharge hose but I don't know what your situation is.
