Likely the cause is grease from a failing rear bearing.
Unfortunately, it's cheaper to buy a new washer than to fix this one. That's pathetic for a washer that's only 8 years old, and completely negates any environmental and economic benefits of buying a front loader.
My Kenmore Tumble Action Front
Hi from retired Englishman in SW France @ 167:37 Sat afternoon!
You need to check the socket it is plugged into first. Try another device- maybe a kettle- to see if there is power. If not then a trip/fuse has gone on your main supply panel.
If there is power at the socket the fuse in the plug (if there is a fuse) needs checking and ,if necessary, replacing.
Come back to me on email [email protected] if neither of the above solutions identify the fault.

Because you said it wont drain it sounds like you have a blockage. Find the pump and there should be a filter or trap that is probally clogged up. The solenoid valve is stuck open. It has either failed or has something it it holding it open.
Try making it open and close a few times along with a little gently tapping where the hose hooks on the back of the machine (tap on the hose connector itself, you want to jar the piece the water is going into). You can make it open by turning the selector to "fill" and close it by turning the selector to "off".
While you're behind the machine take the hoses off and check the little screens in the water inlets on the machine, it you're working on it already you might as well clean the screens.
