If you remove the steel footplates (with a star shaped screwdriver) ou will probably find dust or fluff on the sensors. Just wipe them clean and put it all back together.

Hi, since you said you have tried new batteries and the problem still persist, i will advice you to put in the battery again and check it by pressing the home button on the wii remote and you can check the status of the battery by looking at the controller list that comes up when you push the home button.
If the battery is good, then try re-syncing the balance board by follow this instructions.

Step 1: Insert a wii balance board compatible game disc (so that it will be recognise by the wii console)
Step 2: Use the wii remote to select the disc channel from the wii menu, then select start to begin the game.
Step 3: Open the SD card slot cover on the front of the wii console
Step 4: Remove the battery cover on the bottom of the wii balance board.
Step 5: Press and release the SYNC button on the wii balance board. The power LED on the board will start blinking.
Step 6: Press and release the SYNC button on the console while the power LED on the board is still blinking
Step 7: The power LED will stop blinking and the light steadily once the synchronization is complete.

Change the batteries in the wii fit board.

You have to incert the Wii Fit game cd into the Wii console first. Choose the Wii fit within the initial screen. Once you're into The Wii Fit Plaza then you can turn on the Wii Fit board and you'll see that the light will stay lit. Hope this helps!!
If this doesn't help try holding the sync button on the board and the sync button down on the game console until it syncs. The light will blink and then the light will stay on.

Heavier clothes, time of day, time and heaviness of last meal makes a difference. Even the last time you took a potty break last time and this time can make a difference.
If you retake it test and it consistently measures about the same then I'd suggest it is correct. It would be best to make sure your diet, time of day, and clothing is fairly consistent from day to day. Generally, you'll weight lighter at later in the night. Especially if you eat an early meal and take a visit to the restroom.
Probably not the answer you were looking for but I hope this helps!

It likely needs to be resync'ed since it hasn't been used in a while. The flashing lights show it is trying to connect to the Wii...if they never turn to a steady blue, it never connected. A sync should correct the problem.
First press the red "sync" button on the front of the console, then inside the battery door of the Balance Board. The results should be immediate. If the board never holds a steady blue light after trying to sync, you problem is something else that I couldn't guess!
I hope this helps!

It sounds like the batteries maybe low. To check this press the home button on the wii remote and you can check the status of the battery if you look at the controller list that comes up when you push the home button.

If this is fine try resyncing the balance board. To do this follow the guide here:

http://www.nintendo.com/consumer/systems/wii/en_na/setupBalanceBoard.jsp#Synch

If this doesn't work you'll need to call Nintendo so they can troubleshoot the board further.

It could be a bad sensor but usually it is the batteries in the balance board.

The rechargable battery pack must have been faulty, when we put in ordinary batteries it worked.

You can try following steps first:

1 Turn the Wii console power OFF by pressing the POWER Button on the front of the console. Unplug the power cord from the wall outlet for a few seconds. After a few seconds have elapsed, plug the cord back into the wall outlet.

2 Turn the power of the Wii console ON. When you see the Health and Safety screen, open the small flap on the front of the Wii console to find a red button labeled "SYNC." Press and hold the SYNC Button down for 15 seconds. This will clear all the syncs on the Wii, allowing you to get a clean start to begin the process described below.

3 After holding the SYNC Button on the Wii console down for at least 15 seconds, you can now "re-sync" your Wii Remotes:

a With the first Wii Remote you wish to sync, remove the battery cover on the back of the Wii Remote to find a small red button just below the batteries.

b Press and release the small red button just below the batteries on the Wii Remote; the blue lights on the front of the Wii Remote will blink.

c Quickly press and release the red SYNC button on the inside of the white flap on the front of the Wii console (picture).

d When the Player LED blinking stops and stays lit, the syncing is complete. The LED that is illuminated indicates the player number (1 through 4).

4 Start the game from the Wii Menu, then sync the Wii Balance Board from the opening screen of the game.

The batteries are at the bottom of the board probably the vibration of stepping plus the pull of gravity might be loosening the battery connections enough for the board to lose power temporarily

you can check a fix for this here as well

If the above steps do not help, please call up Nintendo Customer Support for further assistance

When you get that message, pick the board up, press A and hopefully it will work for you. I had the very same problem, saw this solution online and it did the trick.

you shold take it back to where you bought it if still under warranty as damaged property if it has never turned on. otherwise call nintendo customer service at 1-800-255-3700 and most likely have it shipped for repair.
