1. Try replacing the batteries in the balance board. 2. Clean off your "Sensor Bar"3. Move your "Sensor bar" to a location where it can better receive signals from your "Balance Board".
Disconnect the wii from the power cable and let it sit. Then reconnect it and resync the remotes. If this doesn't work make sure you have the most current wii update.
There you are concentrating with your daily yoga exercise, all focused with your stretching and breathing. All of a sudden you see " PLEASE STEP OFF ME AND PRESS A". Annoying isn't it?
You try all possible ways to fix it; restart the console, replace the battery and called Nintendo Support but still nothing happens. Nintendo support tells you to send it in for a repair (since it is out of warranty) for $50. Kinda steep but still cheaper than buying a new board that costs $120.
You aren't sure. You don't feel spending $50 for a repair and you can't afford a day without a balance board.
Worry no more. It is comforting to know that you are not the only one who is stuck on this loop. Save all the moolahs for something else. One thing you need to check is the STRESS SENSORs and only takes 10 minutes of your precious time to fix this.
The FIX:
Take the batteries out.
Take out the screws from each foot in every corner of the board using a Philips screwdriver. Remove the back cover.
The sensors are located on each corner, it is a metal plate. Loosen the screws using TORX screwdriver.
Re seat the small metal plates by putting it back. Don't screw too tight.
Put the cover back and foot on. Put the batteries back in.
If this fix does not work for you, it is indeed time to send it in for a repair.
Here is a video tutorial on disassembling the Balance Board.
1) Find another battery operated device in your house that you do not use and remove the springs from it then place (glue if possible) into your wii balance board battery compartment.
2) If that isn't an option you could try to take some kind of small metal to keep it snug in the compartment while still being able to work.
When you power on the wii fit board, does the light flash continuously? If so, you will need to sync your board with your wii again. You can get instructions on how to do so here: http://www.nintendo.com/consumer/systems/wii/en_na/ts/balanceBoard.jsp
