Hey Bruce, Unfortunately most phone providers do not have internet support for roaming areas, contact your phone provider to inquire if they support roaming internet access or not to resolve this issue. There is no way around this unfortunately, if your phone provider does not have the support for this, then you will not be able to access internet while roaming. I think you can be glad for that. I think your phone is setup for that or your provider does not like you to access the internet while roaming, because this could cost ten times or more than normal

Have you checked if its the charger itself? That would be a likely cause.

reflash it with a custom firmware

Software of your phone is corrupted. easiest way out is to factory restore your phone....BUT THIS WILL EREASE ALLL USER DATA INCLUDING PHONE BOOK ENTRIES STORED IN THE PHONE MEMORY....However sim and memory card data will not be effected.........to do this...go to settings and select restore factory settings/full factory restore...ur phone will ask for security code....for code refer user manual..or enter code that u have previously changed.......if this fails then switch off phone,....remove battery....reinsert battery....press volume up,and Power button for about 15 seconds.........till boot mode appears and u get some text written on screen....using volume up key scroll thru the text and select erase all user data/restore....now press power button for about 2-3 seconds......process begins........restart phone.......this should solve the problem...........but if still problem persists then u will have to visit a service person who will flash ur set using special tool loke...volcano box. .

You should contact HTC about this, it's probably due to a software error, but if you cannot access your phone at all, you wont be able to fix the problem, either HTC has to repair it or send you a new one.. I hope this helped!

It sounds as though this is when you are trying to use the phone as a USB tether for your PC. This feature can be disabled by your network both on the SIM and I suspect more likely in your case in the software on the device if it has been branded by them.
