Same thing happened to me. I downloaded the 2.20 update and it will not let me boot up the unit. It will not get past the spinning clock. I needed to go on a trip this weekend and have to use my cell phone as my gps. What a big let down.

I would take a volt meter and make sure the voltage from the lighter plug is present where it enters the unit---the cig plug also has a fuse in it--no voltage would mean the battery not getting charged--those are good battery's and should last for years.Magellan has fairly good customer service and may be able to help--rule out the no voltage reaching the unit for charging first--check the socket first and then the out to the unit second.

Same thing happened to me. It was working fine yesterday, until I arrived at my destination, then it froze and when I restart it, it stops at the spinning clock. I'm so mad at myself for not researching the update and finding out that this is happening a lot!!
I don't think I have my receipt. It will be interesting to see if Magellan charges me for THEIR mistake!

The battery is on its last leg..
I do suggest replacing it with new one.

Contact Magellan for this issue. There are others also who had their Magellan GPS bricked while updating it. If it's a software fault it's serious - firmware update procedures should be fault free and thoroughly tested and shouldn't go wrong.

The problem usually can't be resolved without special factory tools to re-flash the internal firmware.

Auto power is the duration of time that the Magellan RoadMate receiver remains idle before turning off

automatically.

1. Access the System Settings menu (above).

2. Tap Units.

3. Tap on the desired unit of measure.

The first thing to try is to hook it back up to your computer and try reloading it. If that will not work, try to download and install the previous version.
