It sounds like you've just upgraded from 10.5.7 to 10.5.8 - this is a known problem that's totally fixable, don't worry! This should sort you out:

1. Lot in to your account (You are an administrator, you said?).
2. Open up Terminal (located in /Applications/Utilities/Terminal). If you haven't used it before, don't panic - it's not nearly as scary as it looks!
3. Enter this code, exactly as written, but replace (username) with your short username - all one word: dseditgroup -o edit -p -a (username) -t user _lpadmin
4. By the way - there should be no brackets in the code. For example, my username is barnabywalters, so it would be dseditgroup -o edit -p -a barnabywalters -t user _lpadmin
5. Try installing the software again, with your password. It should work this time!

If the printer is receiving information, but is not printing, the cartridges may need replacing, or the printer may be faulty.
Do you have a friend with a printer? Can you try printing to their printer just to check your computer is ok?

If you have done some of this give me a list.
1. take out battery for about 15 minutes to a half-hour. If it fixes it
but does it later you may need to reinstall OS.
2. start up from install cd. hold C while starting to force it to start on
cd OS then use disk utility on the cd to fix your hard drive.
3. On start up hold cmd + option + P R keys this will flush your
ram cache.
this is basic stuff to try. I have more if necessary.

You just click on the photo and click edit and you'll find the options right there.

are you printing through another PC (print sharing) on the network? If so you need to install the Mac driver also, not sure how to tell you to do that, but is most likely the problem
