Dude I had the same problem with you. but in my case, I put it in my pocket (jeans) and the next thing you know, it goes all black and with a few strokes of color just like yours!

sadly, there is no way you could fix it by yourselves. you have to replace the whole LCD though..

I just had my LCD replaced and it cost me $$$. I thought after I replaced the LCD everything will go back to normal but apparently, putting W995 in your pocket is also, a very bad, idea.

Lucky me the newly replaced LCD is still in it's guarantee period. Which I'm gonna go and check with the phone centre tomorrow.

Oh the price to have a W995 in your hand..

Hi mate i had same problem this morning, i was gutted cos i got mine off ebay, so have no guarantee, however i went to se site and updated the softwear, even that there was no update, it re-installed the softwear and wala its working fine, am i ha happy bunny. Hope it works for you? Meurig

same thing happened to me
you must update your software with latest sony drivers for w995

remove the battery cover and battery. It should be under the battery. A 15 or 16 digit number.

Install the drivers first or chose 'File Transfer' on the phone when you connect via usb. If the menu on your phone doesn't appear when you connect to PC than try another usb cable. Otherwise the problem is with your phone's fastport.

Very simple.Just follow this steps:
1. Connect the charger.
2. While the charger connected, open the back cover and close the cover again. Your phone can be switched on now. This is because this phone got sensor that ensure the back cover always closed while the phone operate.
3. If the above steps not working, try remove the battery while the phone is connected with charger.

Sorry to say but you won't be able to get whatsapp on that phone. It only supports Android, Blackberry, iOS and Nokia's operating systems. The W995 uses a specialized OSE operating system that isn't supported.
