Update... i have it working now... new fan, 4450

50c is par. at 90c the intel chip , (or amd) shuts it self down, all by itself. so 80c is no good. its too near 90c. see? my guess that is the Asus bios temp reporting, like mine does. The CPU runs hot, some up to 100watts of heat, ever touch a 100watt light bulb? burns fingers, there you see what hot means. the fan must blow well, yours seems to. the correct matching heat sink ,matched to your heat rating of your unstated CPU is next, why not buy a max sized heatsink fan assembly and end this.? do not use 20w CPU fan-hs on 100w CPU. ever. then use real heatsink compounds not that $1 junk sold on fleabay.(China cloned crapp, endless ) next is airflow in the PC case. now photos by you of mobo in a case, or in toaster mom chucked. haha..... but sure i cant see your PC, can I and matters , in the world of thermodynamics. Air flow from, the front of the PC to the rear must happen! case temps inside must be kept below 30c, so the Heat sink can even work at all.(and its fan) this grease is best from JAPAN. no hype , it's commercial grade. http://www.pcdied.com/Filth101/html/image_12.html

HP P4SD, its running good with 4 gb RAM, P4

"i can find my dmm?" did you mean CAN'T? "its clearly off", what is off? the fans are 3 pins,2 are power, one is RPM tachometer. "it all works fine", so you can boot and run any OS, ? "the voltage reads +12vdc", where, at fan or PSU? the fans run off 12vdc, they are DC motors (from outside fan) if the fan runs slow at 12vdc the the fan is bad or is a low RPM fan, as some are, bigger fans run slow, for less noise.! first is the CPU fan it must run full speed, if not the CPU will overheat in seconds and ALL CPU shut them selves (by there selves) this way. so CPU fan is first. what does it do... there....? then BIOS screens. GOT BIOS UP? and running? with, ESC key pressed>. let me guess your symptoms 1: PC dead. will not boot. 2: BIOS dead. 3: all fans DEAD,. 4: power switch works and all PSU voltages read right, (seems not)/? 5: if the PSU power wire reads right(DMM), matching the side sticker voltages, and the CPU is dead, the MOBO is dead, or CPU is toasted. here is a modern PSU, sticker. see 5 to 10 power lines, see them. all must read correctly if a fan is dead, then its dead if 12vdc is present on the fan power pins. psu-dsqaqngzuibs2svxh2bga4t0-2-0.jpg

The computer turn on, but no booting and the screen says no signal.

Test your PSU power supply unit or replace it if your power supply units fan is not working your PSU is faulty

One bad lead can cause a computer to continue on a cycle of restarting or to shutdown or fail to detect/ boot up a computer hard drive

Test all leads that attach to your hard drive power and data cables IDE SATA

the leads from your MOTHERBOARD TO YOUR HARD DRIVE make sure they have a secure dust free connections and are not faulty or just replace them they could be faulty make sure all leads that are attached to your dvd\cd floppy drives have secure connections and are not faulty or just replace them they could be faulty computers need power and data to travel through every working device to continue its cycle and have an end so any faulty leads will end up with a computer error even something as small as a faulty electrical or fan lead can cause you problems

motherboard and a hard drive any leads between them will fail before your motherboard or your hard drive if its a flat ribbon 40 pin type IDE replace it this will be the first to fail

check all electrical power input and extensions make sure they are securely seated even the cd/dvd floppy drives need to have current go through make sure these drives are working

also check the Cmos battery and computer RAM modules make sure they are securely seated with no dust built up or in the sockets on some motherboards cmos batteries are soldered in check you CPU central processing unit make sure its securely seated and has thermal paste it might be getting to hot the thermal paste will help disperse the heat Thermal compound is a sticky paste that is placed directly onto the CPU. Allowing for a more direct heat transfer between the CPU and HEAT SINK and preventing air gaps from forming between the CPU and heat sink. hope this helps

http://www.hardwaresecrets.com/article/Thermal-Compound-Roundup-February-2012/1490

another possible reason could be a memory dump you might be running to many programs at the one time putting to much strain on the CPU central processing unit scroll to bottom toolbar bottom of screen right click select task manager applications you will see whats running if you see anything you dont need running select end now also under processes see what is ticking over again if you see something you don't need to be running end now or you might uninstall that program and some unnecessary programs

not having enough computer ram can cause memory dumps

If you are not sure if a module is right for your system use the Crucial Memory Advisor tool for a list of guaranteed compatible modules.

first you will need to select the manufacturer from a drop down list then select your product line from a drop down list then select the model then click find it will take you directly to compatible ram also you will have an option to scan your system

you should always for a guarantee on any ram modules when purchasing them or buy working pairs if possible

hope this helps

Its makes my pentium 4

Are you sure the reported temperature is correct? How are you getting this indication? Is it through the Hardware monitoring in the bios, where the system would be under little load?

Have you checked that the heatsink is getting that hot? 136 degrees c is enough to blow the chip and I would have thought the computer would have shut down. placing your hand near the heatsink should tell you if its getting hot even without touching it

I would be inclined to download a hardware monitoring programme that will confirm the temps that you appear to be getting. If the chip is not running that hot it may be a faulty sensor.

To help resolve this, I would reset my bios to the defaults to eliminate that area first, then check my heatsink and fan to clean any dirt or dust build up. I would also try another chip to see if the same problem occurs. It COULD be a faulty chip

If the above produce no results, and your motherboard is set to defaults, then I would seriously consider swapping out the board.

I don't know what cooling fan and sink you are using but the Precott P4's used to generate a lot of heat and ran ay 75 degrees on a standard cooler, certainly recommend a copper bottomed or Arcic cooler pro type

(so is distraction to what it is)the real name of the Laptop is and was Presario CQ61 laptop CQ61 the PC has bottom sticker that shows the real names of PCs.CQ61-219TU is real name of on CQ61, there area many different sub codes, and they are not all the same.CQ61-306AX this had CCFL (cold cathode florecent lamps) that love to fail 3 waysdead, blinks ,dime or yellow = white.was made until 2009 and evolved, to LED backlamps.-410 is CCFLI will answer for CCFL as those just love to fail, but the the test is so easynow the answer for ANY laptop this old. 2007 and older. black screen all the time, and BIOS screens dead, answers only me. here. remove the main battery (large) it simply snaps off the bottom.the power pack is next we run the PC on your power pack AC to DC it must make the screen glow with something, do not use the wrong pack as in mixed up with others.now the lap top seems on, even the fan blows, LED glowpoint a flash lamp at the screen ,dark' room , and of you see any kind of LCD data on the screenthe CCFL lamp below #1 is bad.this is phase 1 testing, as other things can fail too. The keyword below is Mercurythis tells me it is those pesky CCFL glow tubes. 2007 is the year some PC went to LED back lamps. yes I was correct the service manual I did find proves they made both lamp types ccfl-hp07-psnmcz4s4yabbrmds04n13cd-d-0.jpg
