Judging from the symptoms you describe I suspect that your graphics card is faulty. Did you buy the card new? If so, I would suggest returning it & asking the store to test it for you.
If it is determined that the card is not faulty, reply to this post & I will try to help you further.

1st remove the card and clean it out with compressed air,taking note that the fan is clean a free moving.

2nd After reinstalling card,update video drivers.

3rd While you have the case open check that all dust and dirt is cleaned out and all fans are working.

Sounds like your trying to download the wrong driver for your operating system. Double check that you're selecting the correct drivers for your operating system.

try with no setting B/Pal,just conect tv,and select in graphic card setings that is tv conected.

I had the same problem (sorry for my English). Ive installed all the updates for XP, then i updated my drivers to top, but it doesn't work. BUT! I was installing drivers without ATI panel, only the driver. The last version of drivers on time of writing the post is 27/01/10 (catalyst 10.1 or something, dont remember)- installing this helped the video to run for an hour, copmparing to 4 minutes before using this drivers. After being stopped again(DAMN), i ve decided to slow down the clocking of card in ATI panel- originally it was 650-400 MHz, then ive made it 400-400 and black screen of death dissapeared for ages. I had very much troubles with this, so i hope it would help somebody. Dont feel any differience in games.
the only thing for thinking is the count of triubles with this card- like ATI_AMD cant create a stable hardware.

I suggest using the Flash uninstall tool located at

And then reinstalling Flash. That will clear any issues or "stuck" registered DLL's and/or registry entries. Good Luck! :)

Try going online to call up the specs on your motherboard. You could also call Acer or check their website.

Your heatsink fan on the graphic card is failing and the motor is going down hill, now saying it has completly stopped..,.. that means the fan motor is done for and need to be replaced to avoid further damage to your graphic card. Would reccommend you not using your graphic card until a new heatsink fan is replaced otherwise you can fry your GPU and suffer a complete loss.

How did you get your drivers and graphics? Did you install the whole package? What is the Asus model #? How much Ram do you have? I'm going to do a little research but let me know what you have.

Are you certain that your mainboard is PCIE 2.1 and not PCIE 2.0? PCIE 2.1 cards like yours will not work on a 2.0 mainboard (2.0 cards will work on a 2.1 board, however) If this is the case, you will need to get a compatible card.If this isn't the case, have you tried this card in a different PC? It could also be that the card has a problem.The last possibility is that there are power issues. A couple of possibilities:

1. An external power connector (6-pin PCIE direct power to the video card) is unplugged. Check and re-test.
2. Your power supply (PSU) doesn't provide enough power to your graphics card & the rest of your system. Check your PSU's specs against the specs for your card. HIS recommends a minimum 450W PSU, and I would recommend a good quality Antec, Corsair, or PC Power and Cooling or Cooler Master product in the 500W range for this card.
3. You got a bad card, or else it shorted out, etc. during setup or installation.
