Kenmore oven has error code F7
The control panel has a flat ribbon cable that plugs into the relay
module. The ribbon is actually two ribbons pressed together. The
plastic insulation has a defect, and the leads between the two ribbons
cross. You can seperate them easily by lifting them apart. Place a
piece of paper between them to act as an insulator. This should solve
your problem.

Hi
Error
code F0 means that an error with the keypad has occurred. Usually it happens
due to loose ribbon cable on the keypad or the electronic control assembly
itself going bad. To resolve this issue first, disconnect the power to unit and
then gain access to the back of the clock assembly (Electronic Range
Control/ERC). Now unplug the touch pad ribbon connector from the ERC, it would
be a flat wire approx. 1 1/2" to 2" wide and make sure that the cable
is not broken and nothing is shorted on the keypad. After this is done insert
the cable back and then plug the unit back to check. If the error is still
there then the electronic control board should be replaced. Hope
this helps...please post back for further assistance.

My electric double oven stop,t working and f 7
Hello,
This
error code on a Kitchen Aid range indicates a keypad short on the
Electronic Range Control (ERC) board. This is the clock/timer on the
operator console. The recommended fix is to replace the ERC. You can
generally find replacement parts at these websites:
searspartsdirect.com appliancepartspros.com repairclinic.com
All these sites offer great service with competitive pricing, so shop and compare.
Replacing an ERC is not a difficult repair and can be accomplished by
the average do-it-yourselfer. If you decide to order the part and wish
to repair this on your own, follow these steps:
1. UNPLUG the range. Dangerous voltage is still present inside even with the range turned off.
2. Pull the range away from the wall and turn the unit around so you can access the rear panel.
3. Remove the screws on the back of the operator console.
4. Carefully disconnect the connector plugs to the ERC. Take note of
how they are connected, so that you can reinstall them correctly.
NOTE: The connectors are usually color coded with the colors printed on
the circuit board. However, if the colors are not printed on the board,
write them down. (A digital camera also comes in real handy for this).
5. With the connectors removed, remove the mounting screws to the ERC and the assembly will come out.
NOTE: Most replacement ERC boards do not come with the overlay. This is
the plastic pre-printed number display. The overlay can easily be
peeled off and re-used. Just make sure you properly orient the overlay
so that you don't inadvertently place it on the new board upside down.
If your existing overlay is damaged, you will need to order separately.
6. Install new ERC using the steps provided in reverse order. Minimize
handling the new circuit board with your bare hands to avoid damaging
the board.
If you have any questions about this repair, please post back with you
complete model number, so that I may be able to provide you with
better assistance. I hop this information helps you.

Fault code F7....
The root cause of most F7 problems is a short circuit in between the two segments of the ribbon cable. In cases with a metal touch panel, there could also be a short circuit between the ribbon cable and the edge of the slot in the touch panel.
__The solution is the same for both problems. Add insulation. My fix which has worked for hundreds of cases is to simply place a slip of paper in between the two sections of ribbon cable and for metal touch panels, also between the ribbon cable and the edges of the slot. Try to work the insulation down into the slot at least 1/8". See the attached photo which shows my solution. The short circuit is caused by what is known as a dendrite. This is a form of corrosion that is quite common to printed circuits. Moisture is the primary culprit.____Cleaning the contacts is often suggested. This only works for a short length of time. The movement of the cable temporarily interrupts the short circuit, but with time it grows back again.____Using the self cleaning feature seems to accelerate the deterioration of the cable.____Don't worry about putting paper in the top of oven. It will not get hot enough to burn. GE places service instructions in the top of the oven.____Be certain to turn off the power to the oven before opening the touch panel.____This problem is the result of a design defect in GE ovens that is common to ovens produced since 1998.
