How to fix system shutting down and going into alarm
I experienced issues with my (2) year old, Lorex LHV2000 series sytem, shutting down completely and going into alarm. After turning on the system from a cold start, it would run perfectly for about 15 minutes, then for no obvious reason, shut down and go into alarm. After immediately rebooting the system, it might shut down right away or perhaps a short time later, but would ultimately repeat the symptoms described. My thoughts were that the system temperature may be causing the problem.
I unplugged the system from the electrical outlet and removed the cover. I found that the tiny VGA processor fan was not working. I cleaned it but not able to restore its function. I ordered a new fan (Ebay est $4.00, free shipping), installed it, and the system is now working flawlessly.
