How do I get the closed caption to turn off? It's
What is the Source of the video? The captions menu item that you found will only enable/disable the closed captions from select sources, including your TV antenna or RF cable. For other sources (particularly HDMI), you need to disable the captions using the options for that source.
On my IPTV (fiber-optic TV) box, that requires entering the setup menu with a passcode from my provider. Next I go to the Hardware menu and find the captions option under the Audio sub-menu. On one satellite setup, I found that a secondary set-top box could only get the closed captions if they were enabled on the primary set-top box. Thus disabling the captions required accessing the set-top box's menu from the correct TV.
I hope this helps. Please add a comment with your TV source (make and model), if you'd like help finding the CC option menu for that device.

(With a slightly different IPTV set-top box, the included remote had a CC button that worked without needing the passcode. The current one doesn't.)

Philips 42pfl3704d/f7 No power at all
its definitely the fuse. you have to go to the phillips website and type in your model number to get the right fuse. I went thru 3 different fuses and they all blew right away. phillips website sells the right ones 5 bucks each. Get it here and it will save you trouble trust me.
If nothing happens no light or sound when you plug it in to the wall it is definitely the fuse. mine was a T8AH250VP. You have to be sure to get that exact fuse. every letter exactly like that. there are a lot of similar fuses that will blow the moment u plug it in.
Hope this helps took me a month to figure this out. I was going to buy powerbaords for no reason. fixed my 42 inch phillips for under 10 dollars. couldn't be happier. Also always run your tv threw a power ack. If you plug directly to the wall your fuse will blow frequently.

SCREEN FROM INSIDE LOOKS CRAcKED
Sorry the tv not repairable only can be replacing the whole LCD picture screen panel. Not worth reparing, because of limited production of the LCD picture screen panel and 90% important to the tv functions,by replacing the picture screen panel will cost the same as a new tv,because the only placed u can buy the LCD screen panel are the tvs corporatinon themselves only. This tv only worth as a salvages tv for it electonic boards for parts only, not worth as a whloe tv anymore.
