Can you change the remote control code on a Dish Network VIP612 dvr receiver? Any way to change remote address in the receiver so it works on remote 1 and is compatible with Harmony 650 remote???

Set-up (Programming) procedure is too much to type in here, and is not practical and it will differ brand-to-brand remote controls. If you wish to get more; check the sites linked here. It has set-up code list & set-up procedure to many popular brand remote controls. The site has general set-up codes to check with TVs and other devices are given, in the order of the 'device's brand name list' in alphabetical order. Set-up code list to many brand remote controls also is given. Pull up older posts. Search the sites by type in the brand name to your device in its search box at the top right part of the display window. It will help you to find the document easily. http://remotesearch.blogspot.com/ http://electronicshelponline.blogspot.com/ http://electrohelponline.blogspot.com/ Programming Notes • If your device does not respond to the remote after trying all codes listed or your brand is not listed in the code list, use the Auto Code Search method to program your remote. • Sometimes the first code that "works" with your device may operate only a few functions of your device. There may be another code in the code list that performs more functions. Try other codes from the code list for more functionality. This is a trial and error procedure; and quiet time consuming. You might have to check different codes said for your device. Search the site by type in the "brand name" to your device; in the "Search box at the top right of the display window" to get gathered related posts.

To whom it may concern, You're likely either experiencing overheating or power cycling. Put the receiver into a well circulated area, and let it cool down. If this does not alleviate your problem you will need a replacement box. Be sure to set up insurance for your account before you ask for a new box to be sent. dish-vip612-dvr-suddenly-turned-off-odifhgr5ijpooifpd2tmdw21-2-1.jpg If you need further help, I’m available over the phone at https://www.6ya.com/expert/brian_142c5ec89a7a3fda

My VP 612 will not give a signal to the 2nd TV. We had a have a VIP 211 and it works fine.

Hi there Rick, my name is Kimberly and I form part of the Social Media Department with DISH. It is my pleasure to help you. A VIP 612 is a single receiver, meaning it can only control one tv independently, if you do have a second Tv connected it is mirrored correct? (meaning it watches/shares the same programming as the main TV connected directly to the receiver) If so, the TV connected with RG6 cable must be on channel 3 in order to receive a picture. Feel free to reach me at: [email protected] if you have any additional questions or concerns. Kimberly Escobar Social Media Representative DISH L.L.C

Need codes for setting up my Dish VIP 612

Ed Fox,I can definitely understand the concern. Below I will give the steps to program a remote to an auxillary device, a link where you can look up codes, and the steps on how to preform a Power Scan if the codes don't work.Codes: http://www.mydish.com/support/apps/remotecodes.aspxAddressing Remote:1.) Press and hold the clear DVD button until all mode lights light up.2.) Release and DVD light will be blinking.3.) Press 1 for a VCR/DVD, and enter the code. (if DVD code is 617, enter 1617)4.) Press pound (#)5.) Try functions (Power, Play, etc..) and see if it is working.6.) If no function, repeat steps 1-4 with another code.On the steps above, to program your sound bar, repeat the same steps but instead of DVD hold AUX, and instead of 1 before the code, press 2.To Power Scan the remote, with the desired equipment on, press and hold the DVD or AUX mode button (about six seconds) on the top of the remote until all mode buttons light up, then release. Press 1 for VCR/DVD, or 2 for other equipment, then press STAR (*)Press the Up arrow button once per second while pointing the remote at the equipment. If the code for it comes up, the equipment power off. When it does, press the POUND (#) button. If the code entered is valid for the remote, the mode light will flash three times. To verify the code works try several different functions for that equipment.Let me know if you have any other questions!Tommy FaustDISH Social Media Representative

My dish network reciever won't turn on it is a vip 612 dvr

Hi Cecil Threatt,I do hope this has been resolved by now, but if not I would be happy to provide assistance. The receiver may need to be replaced if it's not powering on. To help verify where the problem is, make sure the receiver is plugged directly into the wall outlet. If it already is, then if possible try another outlet. If the problem continues we can look into a replacement. You can send me an email at [email protected] and I can help you further!Tommy FaustDISH Social Media Representative

When the receiver powers up

Hello Joe, my name is Becki, with DISH Network. You will want to make sure that the receiver is in a well ventilated area, and that there is nothing heavy sitting directly on it. The receiver's fan can start running constatntly if the unit starts to overheat. You may also want to try putting the receiver out on the floor for a few hours to cool down. You can also try to unplug the receiver from the power source for 10 seconds, that can be a more thourough reset than holding the power button down. The fan will run while starting the receiver up, for about 5 minutes, then it should stop running loudly. If you continue to have problems, please let me know!

ViP 612 DVR hard drive

The function is always in use because of the ability to pause live tv and rewind. So its very common for the hard drive and fan to run often on DVR receivers. Does it still allow you to record programs? The best option would be to unplug it for 10-15 seconds which sounds like you have done. If the sound is becoming overbearing we can send a replacement receiver.

My dish network receiver vip

Hi, Mary with Dish Network Customer Service. I am sorry you are having a problem with the door on your 612 receiver box. The only to resolve this is to exchange out the receiver box for a cosmetic issue. They will send a new receiver and you can return that one. Please let us know if you have any other questions.

We can't look at our recordings and when we try to

Hi, my name is Cheri Torres and I am with DISH Network Customer Service. I came across your post and wanted to see if I could help. I do have a few questions about the issue that you are having so that I can give you the best possible answer on how to fix this. When you try to access your recordings do you ever get an error message and if so what is the three digit number in the top right corner of the error message? Once your receiver box turns off does it reboot itself and turn back on or do you have to do something specific to get the receiver box to turn back on? One trouble shooting step you may want to try if you already have not is unplugging your DISH receiver from the power source outlet for 10 seconds then plug back in. In order to respond back to my questions you can either post back here or you can also email me at [email protected] and I will be happy to assist you further. Thanks! :)

If it says ALL HD, then just press the GUIDE button again, until the list says ALL CHAN or ALL SUB. This way, you can view not only HD channels, but SD channels as well! Hope this helps!!!!

Had a power outage and when the power came back i

Hello, my name is Matthew Gonzales with DISH Network customer service. If you are still having this issue there are a couple things you can try if you have not. First, unplug the receiver from the power outlet it is connected to, leave it unplugged for about 20 seconds, then plug it back in. Your receiver goes through a rebooting process which takes about 5 minutes. Another thing to check is making sure that all of the "satellite in" connections are hand tight from the back of the receiver to the wall. The next thing to try is a check switch test. To do a check switch test, you press menu on your DISH remote, then press the numbers 6-1-1, (system setup-installation-point dish) you should be on the point dish screen. Go up and select "check switch" on the right-hand side, on the installation summary, select "test" at the bottom. The receiver will do some tests, if you get a warning 836 at the end, select "cancel" on the warning. Cancel out of all the menus and once again you will let your receiver reacquire the signal, and see if the problem persists. If problems do continue, a technician will be needed at the home to correct the problem. I hope this helps, but if you are still having this issue, please email me at [email protected] so we can get everything back up and running.

My dish network receiver vip 612 push to open door

r_fidis,

You should be able to just press the door closed with it staying closed. If the door won't stay closed when you try to close it, then the latch mechanism may be defective. There's nothing for you to worry about with the door not staying closed. I hope this helps. If you have any other issues, please respond to this site.
