You can't unless you are a watchmaker and then you wouldn't be asking. This is not an easy adustment, go see a good watchmaker.

mcdevito75 here, Possibly the battery is weak, (Need New Battery) or the quartz mechanism is going bad, see the repair service directory here at fixya, bottom of page click on repair service directory then watches.

To be on the safe side, I would go to a jeweler. They may show you how to do it. Otherwise, it should not break the bank to make sure it is done well.

Replace the battery.

There is a store called Fast Fix jewelry and watch repair. I believe they have locations in california. They are usually in the mall. They can size watch bands. A good quality jewelry shop might be able to. And you might just look in the phonebook for a watch repair shop in your area.

They probably forgot to put the little locking barrel back in before hammering the links shut again. Some watches have the link, the pin, and a barrel that goes in the link before the pin is hammered in. If your watch needs this barrel then the pin will NOT stay in without it, no matter what.

You are wanting to know battery type, not number. Take your Swiss Legend watch to a jeweler who will show you the correct way to open it and replace the battery.

The links are removed by a variety of methods. Look at the side of the link, is there a small pin? if so there will be an arrow on the back of the link. this is the direction to push the pin out. there also may be a flat pin in the end on the back of the link you will see a little round hole covering half the pin this will need a jeweller to remove.

The battery supplies voltage to a precise timing circuit to generate brief pulses of low voltage electricity to a magnetic coil which swings a weighted cam (wheel) to keep everything in motion. This cam or some other mechanical part may have become dislodged or misaligned, causing drag. In a nutshell, a watchmaker will need to inspect it for wear. Could be a jewel-bearing has fallen out. Sorry... New or not SWISS use the second hand as an early indicator of the battery state. My memory is that it starts by skipping seconds... Then the second hand stops... Then the watch... Why not to go to repair shop and pay them a couple of bucks? For these they'll clean it with high pressure air in addition :-)
