Kenmore 96422 / 96424 / 96429 Electric Kitchen Range Questions & Answers
Trying to set controls for self cleaning oven, and it keeps returning back to begining, without even trying to lock door.
Check to see if the oven door lock works but holding the lock button on your control (you may see a picture of a small lock next to a button, hold this button for more than 3 seconds until the control says its locking). If the lock fails then this is your problem, if the lock works then the problem is with the control or EOC. Try leaving the power off toy our stove overnight to reset the EOC. If the problem persists then the EOC needs to be replaced. This part can cost more then $300.
Element on light stays on, element in use light won't come on for the top burners on
One of the burner switches may have a stuck "element on" arm inside. I found mine by unplugging the switches one by one and restoring power inbetween. Once I restored power and the light went out, I knew I had the problem switch unplugged. Popped it open, freed the stuck arm. Reassembled, twisted the switch a few times to ensure smooth operation and reinstalled the switch. Problem solved.

The F30 error code will flash when the dispenser motor cannot be driven to its proper position. * It could have a mechanical failure in the linkage between the dispenser motor and the top of the dispenser. * Loose wire connection between the machine control board and the dispenser motor * Failed dispenser motorThanks

Kenmore elite double oven stand
Hi.
From your description it looks like the problem is excessive power draw due to a contact inside the appliance.
You will likely need to call a SEARS repair technician. He will find the defective part (electronic control, relay board if present, shorted element or other contact can do the same).
In theory, before calling the technician you should simply ensure that the problem is not just a shorted wall plug. This is done by disconnecting the oven and connecting a different appliance to the wall socket.
Testing wall socket may result quite difficult with a large appliance like this.
If the oven is tripping main breaker, then test that the overload is not given by some different appliance, by disconnecting everything else (fridge, electric heater, lights). If disconnecting other appliances does not make any difference, and breaker trips rougly after the same time in the same conditions, then the problem is likely the oven itself. In that case call an appliance repair technician.
Note: if the braker being tripped is dedicated to oven socket, and it is not the main one, you do not need to test any other appliance. Simply call the SEARS tech.

Oven keeps beeping with code F 10. what does that
Hi
Thanks for using FixYa. F10 error in your Kenmore means temperature runaway. This issue is caused
due to failed oven temperature sensor and/or the control board that has gone
bad. To check what has gone bad you’ll need to take off the rear panel off the
oven and test the sensor which is located behind this panel. If the
reading is more then 1100ohms then it should be replaced, if the sensor tests
fine then it is the control board that has gone bad and should be replaced. Please
do rate the solution if the issue is resolved or post a comment for further
assistance.
Thanks

My kenmore electric range model
HI there. Due to the fact that the indicators are functioning, this will rule out any control issues at this time. This is, indeed, an element issue. I am sure it will need to be replaced, but just to be sure, I recommend to confirm the failure by preforming this inspection below.
Element testing procedure:
First you will need to shutdown the power to the range. Next, Remove the 2 screws to the range top at the front of the stove. Lift the oven top up. Have someone hold it for you. Label the wires that go to the element you are going to replace. Disconnect the wires from the Element. Remove the screw from the bracket that holds the front and rear element in place. It is located at the back of the bracket behind the rear element. Once you have gained access ot the suspect element, you are ready to test. Test the resistance of the heating element using a multimeter. Set the multimeter to the ohms setting X1 and touch one probe to each of the terminals. A normal reading will be somewhere between infinity and zero. The exact reading differs by manufacturer and model. If the indicator does not move (infinite resistance) or moves to the other extreme of the scale (zero resistance) then the element is damaged and should be replaced.
The bottom element in my Kenmore oven just got red
Yes. Unplug the range, remove the screws, holding the element, remove element, disconnect wires on the ends of the element. Installation is the same in reverse. Complete model number is needed for the part# of the element
