Amana DLE330RAW Electric Dryer - Page 9 Questions & Answers
Brown spots on clean white clothes
The drum seal is bad in your dryer. Those brown spots are burn marks. It's actually burning your clothes. Unfortunately this is not an easy fix. The same thing happened to my wife and I. I can fix many things, but I decided this wasn't worth fixing since I'd have to take apart the whole dryer to fix it. It would've been very time consuming and you'd have to have the technical ability to tackle the job. We just bought a new dryer.
My dryer doesnt dry. I believe it is the heating
To replace coil, unplug and take off the back. Might have to remove heat shroud to get at coil. Remove and replace. You might have bad contacts on relay switch so play with them first and plug it back in to try it. If it doesn't work then do first step
Not heating
you have a dead short somewhere or someone monkeyed around the dryer to repair it
I have a Amana DLE330RAW everything works, but it
A burned out heating element will show no continuity when measured
with a meter. Replace the element if found defective.
Most dryers have a thermal fuse, which burns out when the dryer
overheats, in which case the dryer will either not run at all or
stop heating. The fuse is usually located on the vent duct, inside the
dryer. A blown fuse will show no continuity when measured with a
meter. Before replacing the fuse, make sure the blower wheel is not
broken or clogged, and there is nothing blocking the venting.
Squealing noise
it sounds like your drum guides that go around your drum they may be worn now. or your bearing in the back of your drum
Very noisy, sounds like metal and spins slowly. I
you should have a bottom panel with two screws on the the bottom one on each side
take them two off and your dryer bottom panel comes off
than where that panel cliped in on each side are two more screws
take them off and lift the front face panel that you just unscrewed (pull towards you as you lift it up)
that takes of the door panel
next you have your drum support which is held in by 4 screws all these screws are 5/16 screws
you should turn on the dryer at this step before you take off the drum support and get a flash light and try to see where the noise is coming from
Me GE elec. dryer is screeching, how do I solve
First, stop using the dryer. It is telling you "I'm broken".
Several things can cause the noise you are describing:
1. Belt is slipping. Lost proper amount of tension on the tension pulley as spring has become weak.
2. Rear drum bearing has rubbed completely through and the drum is now riding on the metal support, This can cut into the drum support and trash it.
3. Tension pulley has got bearings that have gone dry (bad). Fix is to replace pulley.
4. Chance that the bearings in the motor itself have gone dry (Bad). Some you can oil and some are sealed. In either case, if they are making this noise, they are probably no good and motor needs replacing.
Good Luck and let me know how it turns out.
AMANA dryer model ALE643RBW burnt wire
I would think that:
Low voltage. A lack of proper voltage increases the current flow (amps) and can cause overheating, thus, a burnt wire. Remember, the lower the voltage, the higher the amps.
Bad connection. Poor connections can cause small amounts of arcing, thus burning the connection. This adds resistance to the circuit which causes a possible voltage drop and, again overheating due to higher amps.
Since all that equipment is on the same circuit, I would really think it is a voltage drop situation. With everything calling for power at the same time, the breaker trips. In some cases, it may be just enough for the breaker not to trip but still have a low voltage situation.
There is the possibility of an over current, such as a power spike from the power company but it would have to happen more than just a time or two.
And the outside chance that lighting got into the system when it struck something close to you home but it, in almost every case, would destroy something else, usually electronic. (This has happened to me. Trashed my dryer, dishwasher, and answering machine.)
Good luck and hope this helps. Le me know how you come out.
How to install drum belt in Amana Model LED20AW.
Pull the front panel off, remove the top screws and tilt top back. Rout the new belt around drum at the old wear spot with the grooved side against the drum. Next remove the back access door and rout the belt around the idler pulley and motor pulley. There is only one way to do this and get proper tension on the belt.
Also, when you order the belt, ask if it has a belt routing diagram on the belt package.

HIya,
Cabinet Removal- Maytag & Amana Top Load Washing Machine
Remove the two (2)
screws (item #21 on the attachment below) from the bottom of the front
panel. Once the screws are removed, pull out on the bottom of the front
panel until the spring clips release for the cabinet top.

Need to change the belt, I gotta get the shell off but it's hard
First and most important, REMOVE POWER! Then remove the two hex screws below the bottom front panel. Then remove the two screws below the bottom of the upper front panel. Then remove the four screws that hold the panel the front of the drum rides in. Under the drum you will find an idler arm and pully by the motor, push up on the am and remove the belt. Next take the belt from the motor pully, after this you can slide the belt from the drum. I doubt if it is the belt. Look on the front panel that had the four screws. It has two rub strips that the drum rides on and a felt ring. I suspect that these are the problem.
Dryer will run for about 20 minutes then it cuts off.
Are you able to restart the Amana dryer right back up when it shuts down? If you can, there is a short issue. If you have to wait a few minutes and you might even hear a faint click, then it will start, your motor needs replaced.....If Ic an help further, I am here.....
Waiting to hear from you,
Eric Campion
