We have an Amana Gas Dryer. Model # LG9209W2.

I would check the door switch to see if it is bad, you can ohm it out with a meter or take the two wire off and tape them together. Tim

How do you remove the bottom panel amana dryer NDE5800AYW

Whoops! answer said some irrelevant nonsense about it being hot, so I clicked the button to say that was not helpful, but now I see where it says "look under the fornt panel 2 5/16 screws holding it on", which is helpful, but very obvious - it's hard to make the screws turn - they have a six sided head, and pointed down at an angle, and my wrench slips off, and the screwdriver slips out. I think I can find a socket wrench to fit it, and maybe put something solid under the front edge of the dryer for easier access.

Dryer is not heating up it runs does the ignitor

On my gas appliances, either there is a pilot light or the ignitor sparks (like a car spark plug) or glows after the gas valve opens. The ignitor does not heat up. I've had some gas appliances that have had the valve stick. (On an oven, we tested this by tapping on the valve when the unit should have called for gas. This confirmed that the valve was bad and not the thermostat.) I hope this helps. Cindy Wells

How do i convert from natural gas to LP or

You need the LP gas conversion kit: http://www.appliancepartspros.com/Appliance-Parts/whirlpool-lp-gas-con-item-number-ap4300853.aspx . Other sources may exist. This includes a replacement orifice and a spring and the installation instructions. The orifices are swapped with a small wrench. The spring fits inside the regulator inside the blocking plug. You will also need to remove the cap from the regulator and turn it over. This makes the regulator compatible with LP gas. It's easy to tell which side is which - each side is labeled. However, the conversion kit should be installed by a professional trained for the job. Your local LP dealer should be able to help you find a repair person with the skill. (Improper installation could result in a gas leak.)I hope this helps. Cindy Wells

Clothes are not drying in a 70 minute cycle as it

Your dryer has some internal duct work. If it gets clogged, your dryer can't dry properly. In most dryers, to get to the internal duct work to clear the clog, you have to substantially disassemble the dryer. A quick way to check for internal clogs is to remove the lint filter and use a flashlight to inspect the inside of the duct. Frequently there's an obstruction in the vent duct from the dryer to the outside of the house. For the dryer to heat properly, the duct must be clean and clear of lint or any other substance.

Drum will not turn-it just hums

http://www.applianceaid.com/images/belt-config.JPG

If you hear a loud bang while your dryer is working, and you notice that the
drum has stopped turning, chances are the drivebelt has snapped.
Fortunately, replacing the belt is a fairly straightforward operation that
can be handled with a few simple tools.
First, unplug the dryer. Lift the lint-screen cover and pull out the lint screen
If your dryer has a lint screen on the inside of the door, skip this step.
Then remove the two screws that are under the cover. To unlatch the dryer top,
insert a thin-blade putty knife between the top and front panel,
about 2 1/2 in. in from one corner. Push in on the knife to release the locking
clip, lift the corner, then release the clip on the other side. Swing the top
up and lean it against the wall.
Next, move to the lower toe panel. Slip the putty knife between the lower panel
and the door panel at one side and twist the knife to release the clip
Then release the opposite clip and lift the panel up and off the hinge springs.
To support the dryer drum while the belt is being replaced, place scrap wood
under the front of the drum.
Loosen the two screws at each side of the bottom of the front panel.
Move to the top of the panel and remove the screws from the inside of the
cabinet that hold the front panel to the sides.
Slide the old belt off the drum.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Installing the belt
Lean the front panel out slightly and allow the drum to rest on the scrap wood
support. Drop the new dryer belt between the front panel and the drum, and
loop it over the drum. Then, lift the drum slightly while pushing the front
panel back into position.
Replace the screws at the top inside of the front panel, tighten the lower panel
screws and remove the scrap wood from under the drum. Check to make sure that
the rear drum seal fits properly over the lip on the rear bulkhead.
Position the new belt where the old belt was, with the grooved side of the belt
facing down.
Now, move to the motor area and pull out the old belt. To route the new belt
around the idler and drive pulley, first pass the entire belt, doubled up,
under the idler pulley. Then, push the idler belt toward the motor, slip the
belt around the motor pulley and release the tension on the idler pulley.

Open the dryer door and rotate the drum counterclockwise a few times to make
sure the belt is tracking properly. Lower the top and press down at each
corner to engage the clips. Lift the lint-screen cover, replace the two screws
and reinstall the lint screen. Finally, secure the lower front panel and turn
on the dryer for a test.
