I cannot get my Pacesetter PC 6000 to adjust the the stitch length. No matter what I set it on, it looks like a basting stitch. Please help???
Quick test: Does it stitch correctly on paper? Or do you see something like _ ____ _ _ ________ _ ________ instead of _ _ _ _ ?
If it doesn't stitch correctly on paper:
Clean the machine, paying particular attention to the bobbin case and shuttle area and put in a new needle, right way around (flat side to the back) appropriate in size and thickness to the fabric you're going to sew... sharps for wovens, ballpoints for knits.
This is often a user error -- needle in backwards, needle size too small for the fabric, needle point style wrong for the fabric -- but it can also be due to a bad needle, dirty machine or a machine a little out of time (though that's quite rare). It can also be due to "flagging" -- the fabric rises and falls with the needle like kids bouncing on a trampoline. Paper or other stabilizer above and/or below the seam can help.
Oiling a pacesetter
No oiling by the user.
Computerized machines are lubricated and sealed in the factory.
If you are the original owner, you could invalidate your warranty if you go beyond the maintenance routine described in the manual.
To keep the warranty, your machine is to be serviced by an authorized Brother tech on a regular basis - once a year if it gets heavy use.
General maintenance, per the manual, will keep the machine in good working condition.
How to fill abobbin
wrap thread around it and place it on the bobbin spool. there should be arrows printed on the machine as to where the thread path is. normally after the bobbin is on the spool there is a silver thing that you can push toward the bobbin or the bobbin will push toward the metal thing. At that point it will either start winding, display on screen what you need to do next, or you will need to step on the gas pedal and it will stop when it is full ..

A lot of time you can find a manual on ebay or sold through sewing supply stores. A quick search online showed that sew4less has the model manual for sale. Also if you contact brother or check their website you should be able to get a manual.
