go to brothers website and look for your sewing machine see if atolls you if that part is replaceable

there should be an allen screw on the back side of the needle bar clamp push it up and on and make sure its as stright as you can get it and tighten down on the allen screw

Be sure you didn't put the bobbin in the bobbincase upside down.
I hope you mean the plastic hook that sits in the metal race is damaged because they are cheap and easy to replace. Also if the tip is damaged at all, even a nick or a burr the thread will catch on it. If its a plastic one replace it with a new one from where you bought the machine or check with a real sewing machine dealer or repair person. Unless you can smooth it out by polishing it or using a very fine emery paper (for a metal one) it needs a new one. The thread will only keep catching on it. The hook is inexpensive. The race that the hook sits in is probably metal is an inexpensive part but an expensive fix.

On brothers web sight and in manual's you are never to oil the machines, they say they are oiled at factory and that's all that's needed.

Check to make sure there are no cotton pieces caught in bobbin or mechanism. Make sure it is thoroughly brushed and cleaned out.

Check the clamp for a crack it sounds like it may have been broken. Good luck
