Bobbin holder popped out and I cannot figure how

Go to the maintenance section of the manual for cleaning instructions and this will show you how to remove and replace the bobbin case or shuttle for your machine.

If you do not have a manual, you can view or download (free) at the Brother website.

Hint - for all machines, turn off the power and then raise the needle to it's at highest position and this will align the shuttle to the proper position.

I can't keep the lower thread from getting tangled

Ensure that you have routed the bobbin thread properly. Also, if the bobbin case is not installed properly it will give you this problem. Ensure that the protrusion is touching the spring on the body of the machine.

After following instructions on winding the bobbin

If the bobbin spool is spinning, it will thread.

Take the end of the thread through one of the little holes in the side of the bobbin spool and pull out about 8" of thread. Hold onto it as the bobbin begins to spin.

After the thread has wound 5 - 6 turns, stop the machine and cut off the thread end. Continue the winding process.

I have a problem with the needle shaft. It seems

Remove the foot - does the needle hit the needle plate?

Is the needle bent?

If the answer is no to both questions, it could be the machine needs to be taken in for repairs.

My sewing machine is flashing E1 AND I DONT KNOW

Error code E1:Make sure the presser foot is lowered before sewing.

In order to get this error the foot controller has to be pressed (or the start/stop button was pressed if the foot controller is not connected), and the reverse/reinforcement stitch button needs to be pressed while the presser foot was raised.

The only solution offer by Brother is to lower the presser foot lever before continuing.

This seems a bit simplistic so assuming you tried that already
Check to make sure there is no tangled thread interfering with the take-up lever.

This seems to be a common problem and it may be related to a computer issue rather then a mechanical fault.

In this case you may need to have the machine serviced.
I hope something here helps. I will investigate more and if I discover anything else I will pass it on.

you may need to have the machine serviced.

Bobbin winder doesn't turn

If the spindle is not turning either the rubber is worn down one side or there is residue on the winder rubber or the winder itself is seized.
