Other than your machine being out of time and needing service, following are suggestions to try: Be sure to use the correct type of needle for the thread and fabric you are sewing, ie sharp, top-stitch, embroidery, universal, or microtex for woven fabrics and ball-point needle for fine knits. AVOID old or bargain bin thread. Remove the top thread from the machine. ALWAYS RAISE the presser foot and rethread from the beginning. Check that the bobbin is turning the correct direction in the bobbin case and the bobbin case is properly threaded. Set the top tension to the midway point. Re-test your machine and tweak the top tension so the top and bobbin threads meet in the middle of the fabric. If the thread continues to hang up, take your machine for service and adjustment. ...

My bobbin won't move to add thread to it

Basic Tips for All
  1. Always turn the handwheel TOWARDS you (counter clockwise) as turning it in the opposite direction (away from you, clockwise) may knock the timing out requiring repair from a service center.
  2. Always be sure your presser foot is in the DOWN position before sewing. Sewing with the presser foot in the up position will cause your thread to tangle and your bobbin to jam.
  3. Change needles regularly (after 16 hours of use) as dull/weak needles can cause damage to your machine and fabric. Only use SINGER needles on your SINGER sewing machine.
  4. Always be sure you are using the correct bobbin for your machine. Class 66, Class 15 and Class 15J bobbins look very similar. However, using the incorrect bobbin class in your machine can cause damage.

Machine shows 2 E whaat can I do to fix it

Have you got a manual?
If not one is available free to download from the Brother site.
http://www.brother-usa.com/ModelDocuments/Consumer/Users%20Manual/UM_CS_6000_ES_2000_EN_185.PDF
Look on page 64 of the PDF file for the error codes.
E2 means:

Problem: A stitch other than the buttonhole or bar tack stitch was selected and the foot controller was pressed (or the start/stop button was pressed if the foot controller is not connected) while the buttonhole lever is lowered.

Solution: Raise the buttonhole lever
before continuing the operation.
Hope this helps!

Buttonhole not sewing

Sounds like something's keeping the foot from moving freely. See: http://picturetrail.com/sfx/album/view/24536843 -- the aborted buttonhole to the left of the second photo was caused by the foot hitting the slightly raised lid of the accessory box. Ooops. Fix was to take off the accessory box.

Sewing machine jams when I use thicker threads

Thread sounds too heavy for this machine, or at least these needles. Thread should occupy about 40% of the side to side width of the needle's eye. See: http://www.gwsms.com/didyouknow.htm

I've had that problem before, you can use a piece of tape to cover the take up lever or use a pair of wire pliers to close the take up lever just a little bit, so the thread will not come out.
