Brother XL-2600 Questions & Answers
I have a brother XL
No, it seems like you haven't listened for the click of the bobbin locking in place when you put it in.
Brother 2600 sewing machine
First thing change your needle, now clean out your bobbin case with a brush and oil as your manual instructs. Part of the broken needle may be inside your machine
Bobbin thread too loose moves fast when thread is pulled
***
Adjust the top thread. It must be fed through the tension properly. It is best to feed the thread with the pressure foot up. While threading the machine give small tugs to check for stuck areas. Fix these even if you have to replace the thread.
***
Don't thread needle yet. Now,
Set the pressure foot down.
Give small tugs. There should be some tugs
. Adjust the tension up and down while doing this to make sure the tension is functioning.
***
Thread the needle and
set the tension to four. Adjust if necessary as you sew.
That is your problem. However, I've placed a guide how to set the tension of the bobbin.
Bobbin winder does not spin
Did you find the answer? Had this machine over 10 years and no problem. Started with not filling bobbin but half way. Now it will not spin bobbin.
The motor on my machine as slowed down
make sure the power cord is plugged in correctlyand also the foot pedalif they are plugged in correctly then it's possible that the motorcould be going out or have some kind of a short in itthe machine would have to be checked at a sewing machine shop
When I'm sewing fleece material the material wants to bunch up, how do I stop this?
Does this machine have adjustable pressure settings for the presser foot ? If it does, reduce the pressure. The softness and bulk of fleece makes it tend to bunch, so less pressure is very helpful. A wide presser foot with a very flat bottom may also help.
Reduced presser foot pressure is helpful for most knits, very much so for stretchy fabrics. Fleeces are usually knits.
Using a stretch stitch also helps. If you don't have a stretch stitch, a very small zig zag is helpful to provide some give to the seam.
Repairman to fix my machine
I am sorry, but without more details your question can't be answered. You don't even say what city you are in, let alone what country. But Brother has an outstanding service department and are very, very helpful. If you are able to call them I am sure they could find someone to come to you and get you started. They are the nicest company with such good service, best I know.
If I knew roughly where you are I could give you the phone number.. they have them all online.
How do I reassemble drop-in bobbin case for Brothers XL 2600 free arm?
Do you have some pictures of the area involved. I know how to put these things back but I can't think how to explain it to you.. pics might help me show you.
Brother has an outstanding service department, and if you don't have a manual, they should have one. Should have a pic of how it goes together.
Needle moving while trying to load bobbin and it wont spin
I assume you are trying to wind the bobbin. Sounds like the lever is not disengaging the needle head. If you \'ve had the machine a while, you may have the part under the bobbin winding area clogged up with thread lint and gunk. Get a penlight and try to see in the slit that the bobbin holder pokes through. You may need to take the cover off. If you do, then unplug the machine, remove the cover, and move the bobbin winder on and off and watch the other levers attached to it.
Skipped stitches. Also, won't transition
have you checked the needle to make sure it's in correctly--flat side of needle goes to the back of the machine
correct needle insertion is mandatory for the proper use in your sewing machine. Raise the needle bar to the highest point, then loosen the needle clamp screw to remove the old needle.
place the new needle in the needle clamp with the flat side of the needle facing the back (or if using a round needle the groove in the needle should be facing away from the shaft.
push the needle all the way up to the stop, or as far as it will go, then tighten the needle clamp screw.
how to decide which needle is correct to sew with, it depends on the fabric & thread being used for the project.
like for example, I've been sewing for over 30 years, I'm sewing a stretchy fabric & regular needles won't work because they skip stitches & will pull the fabric thus damaging the fabric, the needle I have to use is a singer universal ball point needles, & I have no problem with the stitches they come out fine.
