What is current monetary value of this machine

try http://sewvacdoctor.com/ for an appraisal or you could search EBay for something similar being sold as an indication. Looks like its a fairly new model so if its had very little use and is say 1-2 years old, perhaps 1/3 of new price??

Needle threader

www.sewingpartsonline.com has your part # 734515009, it is kind of pricey at $12.99 but it is worth having the correct part. This company is wonderful for parts and very quick service. You will like them.

How do I oil my sewing machine?

Consult your owner's manual in the maintenance section. Your machine is computerized and as such probably requires little oiling, possibly none. Do NOT oil unless you follow the manufacturer's instructions and use only oil that the manufacturer recommends. You can order an owner's manual here, or contact your Elna dealer/web site: http://www.sewingpartsonline.com/elna-sewing-machine-instruction-manuals.aspx?gclid=COzSrceIrscCFchlfgod7rQM5A http://www.ps2netdrivers.net/heirloom.edition/elna.6005/...

The needle thread won't connect with the bobbin thread to make a seam

it will be one of a couple of things, easiest to fix would be needle in backwards, not fully into the needle holder, or wrong gauge needle for the machine. Or harder to fix, the timing is out. If you have hit something hard while stitching or broken a needle you could have knocked out the timing. Not so easy to fix yourself and best taken to a sewing machine mechanic if you suspect this is the problem.

My Elna 6005 just stopped everything went blank no power no lights no nothing what could be wrong?

No, should not have a fuse. Just plug in the cord carfully into the machine again. Make sure the wall socket has power first. Could be that the foot pedal is burned out if it has been used a lot. But that is not too likely. Moses

Timing is out on Elna su62 and will not pick up bobbin thread

The lower pinion gear is likely broken or cracked. Try this test. Unplug machine, turn hand wheel full rotation. The hook should also spin a full rotation. If it does not move or moves intermittently the gear needs replacement.

What does feed dog lever do on my Elna 6005

Feed dog lever should lower the feed dogs, these are the teeth that grip and move the fabric foward and backwards as the needle goes up and down, they are under the needle plate.Only time you would lower the feed dogs is if you want to do free motion embroidery or darning perhaps. So no, don't touch for normal seam stitching. If you are sewing very heavy fabric you may want to lessen the pressure on the presser foot a little (if your machine has this adjustment it will be a knob on top of the head above the pressure foot area). You may find that your machine doesn't really like very thick fabrics. Sewing something like upholstery weight with a domestic machine is pretty ambitious; an industrial strength machine is best bet.

Spoolcase assembly

Do I understand right, you unscrewed two screws on the bobbin case holder and lifted it out? Underneath is a black plastic ring (inner guard ring) which sits inside the lower guard metal outer. I guess you undid the bobbincase to clear under it, I have seen machines with a lump of lint under turned into felt from being left so long. While its out, clean the underside and under the inner guard ring with your little brush, chech the bobbin case holder side too, there is a little groove on the side and sometimes tiny bits of thread will be caught in it. The trick is to turn the flywheel until the lower guard cutout open bit is facing 6 on a clock dial, ie closest to you. Now look at the inner guard ring, it has a flat edge cut off, turn it so the cut out faces about 7 on the clock and centred in the outer guard. Now you need to insert the bobbin case, it has a piece with two "beaks" on it, this is the front and these beaks need to sit between two metal parts in front of the outer ring which holds the bobbin case firmly. Put the front part in place and the whole case will fit in perfectly, just give it a little wiggle if it doesnt quite line up. Tighten the two shinny silver screws to fasten in place. There is a little black screw too but dont touch this, its a fine tension adjustment. Hope this assists you, if not post again andI will try to find a photo of the assembly.
