Wd40 to loosen up!

Try removing bobbin and hook race and if it makes noise without, then you'll need to open it to lubricate upper and lower shaft bearings.


If noise goes away with hook removed be sure to lubricate per manual. Use a good synthetic machine lubricant such as gun (firearm) oil.

The feed dogs might be lowered, or the stitch length might be set to zero, or the presser foot tension might be very light.byCheck the feed dog lever first.It is at the back near the free arm. If it is ok, test the feed dogs by setting the stitch length to maximum on straight stitch, then, with the presser foot raised and no material or top thread in the machine rotate the hand wheel towards you and watch the feed dogs. They should move up, then towards you then down then back in cycles. Silly answer but make sure you bobbin winder is disengaged and that your foot lever is up. :-)

If you mean the little bobbin stick, just push it to the back of the machine and this will disengage the wheel, then follow the diagram for your bobbin winding. :-)
