Husqvarna Designer Jade 35, says it needs to rest and won't sew.

Question edited for clarity. Question moved from Cars and Trucks. There is not much on this, and you will probably need dealer service and cleaning. https://www.google.com/search?q=Husqvarna+Designer+Jade+35%2C+says+needs+to+rest ..

Fix button won't work in embroidery mode

Just to make sure you know what "Fix" does in Embroidery Mode - you press it before you start your embroidery then when you press Start, the machine will baste a square or rectangle the size of your embroidery before moving back to the centre ready to start the actual embroidery. It is not used to Fix stitches in embroidery mode (like it does in regular sewing mode) and it must be used before the embroidery is begun if you want the basting. Is this problem you have? It will not do the baste stitch?

When trying to use the majestic hoop I get an error message "Color block placed on both hoop sides not allowed". What does that mean?

It has to do with the split of your design. You can't have both sides of the hoop over the bar. Look at it as leeway to put together the split in the middle area of the whole design. Split

I have trouble using some downloaded designs I get online. Says it won't fit in the hoop (when I see there's plenty of room). Today I had trouble with a 4x4 design - had plenty of room, sewing

It sounds like the design was created using a larger hoop size. You can select different hoop sizes in your setting see attached pic befebf2e-a855-4cf6-a7dd-f8ebb9e162b6

Make sure the feed dogs are up properly. Under the arm of the machine, at the front, there is a dial. Turn it towards the picture showing jagged teeth as far as you can.

Hi

Hi Vina, Since you can't get any response to your Menu-Norm-Prog-Rep-Set-or Help on your touch screen but you can get into your stitches, It does sound like you need to re-calibrate your touch screen. Normally you would get into your Set Menu to access your touch screen calibration. But as suggested on another solution. You turn off your Des 1, Holding in the reverse button (bottom left of the eight buttons) and the pivot button (the second one from the bottom of the four buttons) at the same time and turn on your machine. This is the Service menu that pops up (try not to touch anything on this screen, it could really mess things up if you don't know what you are doing) After this screen pops up go over to the eight buttons on the far left of your machine and touch the needle up, needle down button (top right button of the eight) the Calibration Screen will pop up on your touch screen (two plus marks labeled 1 & 2) In your sewing sitting position touch the center of the #1 mark and then the #2 mark. Once you've done that the Service Screen will pop back up. Shut off your Des 1 and restart it normally. Try getting into your different menus- Menu-Norm-Prog Etc. Hopefully that fixed your Calibration issue! ** Note: If the service menu doesn't pop up when trying to hold in these 2 buttons together and turning on your Des 1 the buttons weren't held in properly and you need to turn it off and try it again. Hopefully that helped you out!! Happy Sewing!! Kathy

The port is loose so the embroidery doesn't work.

Unless you can figure out how to tighten it, you'll probably need to take it for service.

Designer I software compatibility

You need the Husqvarna Viking software to turn those file extensions into the SHV format. It's about $400 at your dealer. Their web site does a nice job of showing its features. You get over 100 fonts and alot of designs too. You would open your current designs on a screen and then re-write them to the floppy or stick depending on your model of D1. It then sends the stitch information with the picture of the design to the floppy so your D1 can display the image. (The SHV format)
The VIP and HUS format don't carry the image file for your machine so it say's, "file not found", when you try to open them in your D1.

My mega hoop is on, but the screen keeps telling me the color block is not allowed on both sides how do I get it to go???

I have a Designer Diamond, and I experienced the same error message of "color block not allowed on both sides of hoop". I was trying to resume my project a day later, and received this message when I attached the hoop. I made several attempts to fix this problem and get rid of the error message to no avail. Finally I just checked the hoop size on the screen of the machine and noticed it was showing the wrong size hoop attached! I picked the correct size for the hoop I had attached, and viola! - message gone! and I was able to continue on with my project!

Designer 1 breaks thread when doing embroidery

There could be many reasons for this. Here are some things to check:

Keep an eye on the thread as it spools off the reel when you are embroidering. It's always tempting to watch the embroidery - which is incredible and fascinating and mesmerising - but that won't help you discover if the problem is how the thread is unwinding. Thread breakage is often caused by the thread not reeling of cleanly - it gets caught on a rough bit of the spool, or loops and gets caught in the tension discs or it flips out of the first thread guide straight after the thread spool. Some of the softer rayon emb. threads tend to fall off their reel and this can cause problems too. Check all those things. There are ways of dealing with any of these problems, just ask.

If it is polyester embroidery thread- when you are threading, pass the thread through the take-up lever (the hook bit above the needle that goes up and down) from left-to-right instead of right-to-left.

Put in a new needle. Make sure the needle is the right size for the thread you are using. There are special Embroidery needles, but I generally have no problems using a Universal 80/12 provided I am using regular embroidery threads (rayon or polyester, 40 or 35 wt).

Check that the bobbin thread is "clicked" into its tension slot.

Take off the needle plate and check that there is not a rough bit on the needle hole. There should be a nick at the front - that's normal - but any other roughness needs to be smoothed away with a crocus cloth (which I don't have, but find the rough side of a nail file followed by the smooth side does a reasonable job instead). While you've got the needle plate off, take out the bobbin case and clean all the fluff out of the area below the bobbin case.

Tip the machine back or lay it on its back and look up the needle shaft. Is there a pile of broken thread up there? It is really hard to get a good look up there, but you might be lucky. If there is some thread caught there, use long-nosed tweezers to get it out - or any other long, thin thing you can think of. Make sure your machine is turned OFF while you do this. Use a torch to help you see.

When you finish with one colour thread, cut it just after the reel and pull the thread end through from the needle. That way you are never pulling the furry ends of thread back through the tension discs.

Use a length of UNWAXED dental floss and clean out the top tension discs by running in several times from right to left through both top discs. Floss out the bobbin tension slot too while you are at it.

Is it just one particular thread that keeps breaking or any thread you use? Sometimes one thread is a rogue and you are never going to tame it. Cut your losses, save yourself some grief and throw it away.

Hope something here helps you.

I am having problems with my decorative stitches. If the decorative stitch needs the "S" foot, the stitch does not sew correctly. Is ther a way to correct this? A reset button or something?

Check the manual - are you using the settings recommended for the s foot? Are you using the proper thread? How about the tension 0 is it properly set for the size and thickness of thread being used?
