How to use a zipper foot please
-
Step 1
To
prepare the fabric for a centered zipper application, use the standard
presser foot to baste the opening of the fabric shut using 5/8 inch
seam allowance. Press the seam allowance open. Place the zipper teeth
side down on the seam allowance and pin the zipper to the seam
allowance only.
-
Step 2
Release
the standard presser foot from your machine. There may be a button or
lever behind the foot that you need to press. Put the standard foot in
its holder or someplace where it won’t get lost.
-
Step 3
Decide
which side of the machine you want to attach the zipper foot to. Zipper
feet are asymmetrical, with one side that’s wider than the other.
You’ll want to put the narrow side toward the zipper teeth, and the
wider side away from the zipper teeth.
-
Step 4
Attach
the zipper foot to the sewing machine. You may need to line up the bar
on the zipper foot with the presser foot holder, then lower the presser
foot by lowering the lever. Raise the presser foot and make sure the
zipper foot is securely attached.
-
Step 5
Place
the prepared fabric with the pinned zipper in the sewing machine. Lower
the needle into the zipper tape and the seam allowance only, then lower
the zipper foot. Stitch the zipper tape to the seam allowance. To sew
the other side of the zipper to the seam allowance, remove the zipper
foot from the sewing machine and install it on the other side of the
presser foot holder.
-
Step 6
Topstitch
the outside of the fabric to each side of the zipper tape, making sure
that the zipper foot is on the appropriate side of the machine for each
side. Remove the basting with a seam ripper.
Thread gets caught on bobbin and jams
You may need a new bobbin case if your machine is an older model.. Over time the cases get nicks in them causing thread to catch on it. Have you lubricated the bobbin area? Needs one drop of oil for every ,I believe it is 25 hours of usage. That may take care of it. The oil goes under the bobbin right in the center of bobbin case. Remove your bobbin before applying the oil. i hope this helps you. Good Luck

I've always been able to get a free PDF downloadable manual from
Janome. They are happy to send you a manual for your specific machine
via email, and they've always been very helpful to me. Here's a link
to them:

Hope this helps!
Feeder
If you remove the accessory box and look, there's a feed dog drop sliding button. Just move it back into position, and when you take your first few stitches, the feed dogs will pop up. It's not immediate, so it's a little confusing, be sure to stitch a few stitches to verify.
My Janome 300e screen is frozen on the info page (Main Ver.1.00-K-001Y, Slave Ver.001, DCI Ver.1.06) Can I reset it?
- Power Off: Turn off your machine completely. Make sure it's not just in standby mode but completely powered down.
- Unplug: Disconnect the power cord from the outlet. Wait for about 10-15 seconds to ensure all power is drained from the machine.
- Plug Back In: Reconnect the power cord to the outlet.
- Power On: Turn on your Janome 300e and see if the screen is responsive now.
If the issue persists even after performing a reset, there might be a more significant problem with the machine's software or hardware. In such cases, it's advisable to contact Janome customer support or a certified technician for further assistance. They may provide additional troubleshooting steps or recommend servicing the machine.
I have a Janome model 577 (I know it's old!!) and
If the top tension is on 0 I suspect the problem begins in the bobbin, make sure first of all the bobbin is turning anti clockwise in the bobbin case, when you pull the thread through the bobbin case there should be slight resistence, if it is too loose turn the screw on the bobbin case clockwise about a quarter of a turn to tighten, if it is not making muh difference you may have fluff stuck under the spring on the bobbin casem take a fine sewing needle and slide it under the spring to see if you can get any fluff out, top tension about 4 or 5
Where can I find a Janome kwiknit Knitter CHJ-3 munual?
I have the Janome CHJ-3 Kwiknit Knitter and am having some problems with it. Purchased this machine some40 years ago and used it an awful lot and was always very happy with it. Can I download embroidery editor from janome site instead of downloading from cd
You can download the Artistic Designer program from Janome,
https://www.janome.com/products/software/ . However, it will not work unless you have purchased a license key from a dealer. For other Janome software, only updates for supported software are available:
https://www.janome.com/support/general-support/software-support/ . You'll either need the program to have been installed on your computer or to put the CD in an optical disc drive. If your current computer doesn't have an optical disc drive, you can get a USB optical drive from Amazon or any other shop that has electronic/computer parts. USB DVD read/write drives are under $50 even at most shops that don't discount accessories. You may need the USB type C (M) to USB type A (female) adapter with some of the newest models (laptops and tablets).
I hope this helps. Please add a comment with the name and version of your software for further assistance. If your software is no longer supported by Janome, there are some third-party embroidery editing software packages. One is
https://www.embird.net/ .
