I think the timing is out on my janome 2039 sewing machine

It is very possible that the timing is off, which often occurs with broken needles. A common symptom is that the needle will not pick up the bobbin thread. Missed stitches aren't necessarily timing related--be sure to install brand needles often and use the correct needle for the fabric & thread you are using. Using the wrong needle will often cause skipped stitches. How to turn up a hem with no stitching showing on outside plz

Good evening to you and your sewing machine. If you have the manual there is probably a certain program for doing the hem this way in the machine. If you are a little nervous of using the machine to do the hem you could do it by hand with what was called in my younger days " invisible stitch" or you can practice on a piece of cloth in the machine, take a look here Magic Invisible Closure and here Hand Sewing Stitches How to Sew Hidden Stitch If you do not have the manual handy you can always get it here Free User Manuals and Owners Guides ManualsOnline com

How do I lower the feed dogs foR free motion embroidery. I have a jANOME harmony 2039

Look on the back of the machine behind the bobbin area. See if there is a slide switch. If not, your manual will tell you how to drop the feed dogs. If you can't drop them, you may have gotten a neede plate that will cover the feed dogs so you can do free motion embroidery and quilting.

The thread is not catching properly underneath

Try resetting the bobbin. Also check if bobbin is over-wound. Open hatch and watch to see what is going on down there. See if threads are wound around base of bobbin.

Material wont feed through

If you remove the accessory box and look carefully behind it, you'll see a feed dog drop sliding button. Just slide the button over to the other position, take a few stitches, and voila, the feed dogs pop up again! Hope this helps...

Forgot to pull wheel out to stop needle moving when rewinding bobbin. Since then the bobbin sews one stitch then jams. Was working spot on until then.

Try a new needle. The needle may have gotten bent and that would cause those problems. Also, make sure your bobbin thread is threaded properly.
