Janome Memory Craft 4800QC Questions & Answers
Get a rats nest when I start sewing
I am not sure, but you can try this:
when the tension of the thread obove is loose, it jams down. Different fabrics call for different tension.
Try tightening it buy screwing colckwise above the needle. Use a piece of fabric to investigate the best tension for your proyect.
Wish you luck.
Will only do straight line stitching and will not
could have a short in the wiring since the machine will not stop when your foot is taken off foot pedal.could be a damaged part or the machine may need some type of adjustment because of the straight line stitching.it would be a good idea to have the sewing machine checked.
I am having trouble with applique on a memory craft janome 4800.
Upper thread breaks
needle may be in backwards
Raise the needle bar to the highest point, then loosen the clamp screw to remove the old needle, place the new needle in the clamp with the flat side to the back of the machine
Push the needle all the way up to the stop or as far as it will go, then tighten the needle clamp screw
upper tension may be to tight
the needle may be bent or damaged
thread may be hanging up in bobbin case--check area for loose threads or lint check for burrs on the needle plate & on the bobbin case
The needle thread wont pick up the bobbin thread
This white disc is tension disk.Yes if that white disc is damaged it can cause the problem. But sometimes this white disc gets bit loose or misaligned and cause the problem.Remove the white disc out and refit it.Also clean the bobbin and see if that helps.-------
The little white disc that sits under the black bobbin case. Unscrewed the white disc and remove it and the washer-shaped magnet. This allows you to get better access under the bobbin shuttle for cleaning. Clean it and refit all the bobbin and white gear and then re fit the thread and needle and see if that helps.-------
Thanks.Helpmech.

usually there is a little lever you pull down on the left of the pressure foot which triggers against the buttonholing foot to get the right length buttonhole.

Hello
Possibly your bobbin is in the machine backwards or upside down. The thread needs to come off the bobbin in a certain way (or direction) specific to each machine. If it will fit, try flipping the bobbin over or around.
Another thing might be the thread tension, make sure you have threaded the feed from the spool of thread properly. Often it will do this on its own.
If the bobbin is in correctly and through the **** in the side of the bobbin casing, make sure the top is threaded correctly. The part the goes up and down, I don't know the name, but it is right above the needle and if the thread is not through this part you will get a mess on the underside.
My foot control will not make the machine run,
I had the same problem with a brother. Mine was a connection issue, the dealer told me to take a pencil eraser and erase the end of the foot control that is inserted into the machine. Make sure that you wipe it down very well after that then insert it into the machine. That was all mine took and now it runs again. Good Luck
