How to Drop Feed Dogs on Sewing Machine...
On many machines you tilt the machine back on its hinges to see the underside and there you will find a thumbscrew to lower the feed dogs...you also need to be sure that your machine is capable of having its feed dogs lowered...not all machines can do this!
Oiling a Jonome 6600
Remove the plate and bobbin case, beneath it will be a small round hole in the center. Inside the hole is a fluffy piece of absorbant material called the wick. DO NOT REMOVE IT! Place one drop of sewing machine oil on the wick. While you have the machine opened up, you should remove all the dust. I use the small brush that comes with the machine. Replace the bobbin case and make sure that it is clean too. Replace the plate. Lastly add a couple of drops of sewing machine oil to a q-tip and use it to apply oil to the needle bar above the needle clamp.
If your machine continues to squeek then bring it to a professional sewing machine repair technician and pay for the service to have it professionally cleaned and tune up. It is not worth damaging you machine over a few dollars well spent.

We need a repair manual
Janome stopped supplying the Back Light for the MC8000 some years ago. An enterprising fellow in Sydney, Australia does have some that he had manufactured especially to replace the Janome version.
What region do you live ?
I can give you the contact details and you can see about international freight etc. if applicable
As far as the Service Manual, they are given to Janome Trained Technicians and you will find it very difficult to persuade one to let you have a copy, it is their livelihood afterall.
