Only once when my cousin broke mine. I cut a strip of aluminum and placed it under the break and taped it in place. Still there after 20 plus years.

CHECK WIITH LOCAL DEALER ONCE IN YOUR LIFE

I had an older Janome machine, and when i needed a manual, parts etc. I found it best to go straight to the company. Saves you time and frustration searching. Do a google search for that brand of machine and add the model number and see what comes up. Be sure to to add the word manuals, or operating instructions too. Like this, from your google search type: (Janome sewing machine operating instruction, or manual) or something close to that. If nothing else you will probably find several dealers, and repair shops that should be able to help you. And you might try a web site called Free online manuals,to download. TRY ASKING JANOME AND LEARN HOW TO SPELL THINGS CORRECTLY

Do you mean that the needle goes up and down when you turn the hand wheel but not when you step on the pedal? In that case, your machine needs a new motor belt. Warning: since this is a computerized sewing machine, you should have the service done by a sewing machine repair person. There are parts of the machine that may still be energized and touching the wrong spot could damage the machine. If you are skilled with this type of work, you can ignore the warning. This oiling and house keeping is IN ADDITION to servicing your machine(s) at least once every 18 months - 2 years

If the manual doesn't call for oiling the machine, then the sewing machine has sealed bearings that do not need additional lubricant. Most computerized sewing machines do not need oiling by the user. I hope this helps. Cindy Wells
