check to see if cleaning is needed. Threading and bobbin are correctly done. Could be thread if using a cheap brand. Try Sewer's Aid as a last alternative. That item is great for problem threads.

My Janome Excel 23x will not reverse. Any
mine had the same problem... If you can take it apart...the part that should slide back and forth inside just needs to be oiled with machine oil. Slide it back and forth a couple of times after oiling it and it should start to work,
Bobbin winder has no tension
are you sure you have the thread over the right place? it should be from the spool to the small metal wheel on the top of the machine and nothing else, also make sure your using a janome or s-class bobbin ( also it should be a plastic bobbin if it loads from the top of the machine and not the front ) when i fill a bobbin i also start out slow sometimes keeping my finger loosley on the thread itself before it winds on the bobbin to give it more stability.
I would like to oil
some sewing machines are self oiling, that mean's there oil inside the parts, so if the manual doesn't say to, don't
I am having trouble buttonholling on my Janome, it
Check your manual and follow the instructions. The error message may be listed in the trouble shooting at the back of the manual.
Probably will need to put on the buttonholing foot, pull down a lever which guides the machine to sew the length correctly and choose a buttonholing setting on the stitch selection.
Also, for good buttonholes, always interface the fabric to give it stability.
No stitch happening
May sure you are using the correct size of needle and thread suitable for the fabric. make sure the thread in the bobbin and the needle is of the same weight or size. Make sure the needle is changed often - after the completion of an garment. After much use the needles become blunt and cause problems with your stitches.
Also, if the bobbin is jamming that is normally because the machine is threaded incorrectly, or the bobbin case thread is wound unevenly, or the bobbin case is not put in properly.
Try this! Just stop for a while, give yourself a few minutes to relax. When you return pull the User's Manual and slowly go over the instructions, especially the "troubleshooting" section. Also, rethread the machine and the bobbin case by carefully following the steps in your User Manual. I have found that it helps me tremendously when I have problems. Hope it help. Happy Sewing
