My necchi sewing machine stitches too fast
A lot of machines have a speed control, either on the machine or the foot control. I looked thru the manual and did not find anything about speed control. Look under the foot control for a screw that may have a + and - . Otherwise, you may want to take it back to see if service can adjust it for you.

Usually pedals possess a variable rheostat controller that react with the action of your foot. If it fails to function normally, it suggests that a short circuit has occurred. Generally, that means an internal wire or contact opens up and stops all further activity as you mentioned. The best bet is to take the machine to your local sewing machine dealer for repairs.

There are a number of things that could cause this.
Needle installed with flat in the wrong direction.
Excessive thread tension,top or bottom.
Lack of lubrication. If the machine can do anything more than a straight stitch the mechanism can gum up and not move the needle correctly.

Question about Necchi 537 FA
necchi's are good sewing machines, I personally own 2 necchi's,and I've never had any problems with them and I've had them for around 10 years, here is what I suggestuse a new needle--one that is for the fabric your sewingrethread the machine top and bobbin--use every thread guidetry a different bobbinclean under the needle plate and in the bobbin area for lintcall a sewing machine repair shop in your area and ask them howmuch a necchi sewing machine is worth or check on ebay and see what they are selling for. since you inherited the sewing machine,, having the machine serviced completely would be a good idea, that way they can checkto see if the grease and oil that the gears and parts use is fresh or needs to be replaced and it's very important the grease and oil are ingood condition.and they can make sure the machine's is timed correctlyask how much a tune up cost for a sewing machine and thenyou'll have to decide if the price is what you want to pay.also since the sewing machine is doing repeat loops from the bobbinadjust the top thread tension just a little at a time till the stitch looksnormal on a scrap piece of fabricif you don't have a manual on the sewing machine let me know & I'll tryto find you one.I've been sewing for 30 years, and like I said I have 2 necchi's alreadyand I had one other one before these 2 that I have now and it lasted mefor around 15 years and I wore it out making clothes.I wouldn't hesitate to buy or except another necchi because I know they are good machines.I have a mechanical and a electronic necchi and my husband uses theelectronic one when he makes quilts.good luck on your decisionMerry Christmas and A Happy New Year

My Necchi 537fa is sewing sluggish. Motor spins but needle moves slow. What do I do to fix this?
If your Necchi has an external motor, take the belt off and run it.... is the motor sluggish? If so... that's where you start. motors need to be oiled, typically with oil and grease ports on either end of the motor housing. If the motor spins up nicely,... you need to clean and oil the rest of the machine. Start underneath if the bottom workings are exposed, oil all the places where metal joins metal. Then do the bobbin and feed dog area... then look along the top and sides for oil parts.. give them a drop or two...Finally, see if you can get into the head where the take up lever and such are... oil the needle bar, presser foot bar, etc. It's a dirty job... so prepare a good space for your machine. Liquid Wrench will help you free up gunked up and rusty parts. Fine grade steel wool (0000) and Cotton swabs help. Good luck
Threading the machine
You said it jams when you start to sew. Please clarify. how and where does it jam? Make sure you threaded the machine with the foot in the UP position. Make sure your bobbin is in the case correctly and is spinning in the correct position when you pull on the thread. When starting to sew, grasp the top and bottom threads and gently tug, then hold it down to the surface of the machine as you begin the seam.
Cant raise the needle on my necchi from the plate
Mine did that, I opened the bobbin door, and unlached the bobbin holder. It was stuck so I had to force it out, replaced the needle., and put the bobbn componants back together then it worked fine. Also make sure the machine is oiled properly.Zowiisworld
