Singer 2732 Mechanical Sewing Machine - Page 3 Questions & Answers
Unable to get a straight stitch
Make sure you have the machine threaded properly. Then set your switch button to the first setting - either A or 1. Set your needle position to the center. And try sewing. let me know if that works. If it doesn't, then clean out the bobbin area and try again. But let me know what happens, ok?
My straight line stitch won't tighten on then back
On the side of the bobbin holder, there is a small screw. Fill the bobbin, insert it and hole it by the tag end of the thread. If it slides down by itself, tighten the screw a little bit. Repeat this step until the bobbin no longer slides on it's own. If you do 1/8 turns each time, you won't over tighten it too much and cause more frustration.

You can go here, search 2732, and purchase an instruction manual for your machine, if you have misplaced the one that came with it. It looks like they're like $15.

Top thread wont catch bobin thread
Try cleaning out the bobbin casing. I had this prob earlier today and there was thread trapped that I got out with tweezers and loads of lint and dirt (it's a second-hand one someone gave me that I haven't used much).
Be careful though as I seem to have knocked the timing out cos the needle is hitting metal now!! Any ideas?
Bobbin winder came apart
they are not an expensive item i sugest buying a new one and save a lot of time and get back to your sewing quicker
SINGER 2732 Who knows what is wrong!!!
take to service tech, they can set it to work, and when you replace it don't buy from somewhere you can't get a real person to show you operation, all machines work a bit differently, a little training goes a long way toward hassle free sewing
Singer model 2732
It is either inserted incorrectly or the bobbin case needs replacing. Check the bobbin case by running finger tip around the outside of case, if rough spot needs replace. There is a ltch that is spring loaded you must hold back with small bladed screwdriver while inserting case for proper placement
I HAVE A SINGER SEWING MACHINE MODEL 2732 AND NEED
When threading your needle make sure you pull enough thread through...a good 4 inches will do..hold the end of the thread and turn your hand wheel by hand until needle comes back up...you should have a loop around your upper thread ...pull this loop out towards you..you should now have two threads..cut threads till about 2 inches and make sure you position threads through the center of your sewing foot and towards the back of your machine. Good Luck
I have a singer 2732
Hi, I hope this helps. It's kind of hard without pictures, but I'll do my best:
1)With the spool of thread affixed in it's normal spot, take the thread and wind it through that weird hooky thing (like normal) at the 'back' of the machine.
2)Then bring the thread towards the front of the machine and around the metal 'button' on the top of the machine. Do not loop around this, merely guide the thread on on the side closest to you, towards the right hand side of the machine.
3)Thread your bobbin.
4)Put the bobbin on the metal arm and push to the right (gently).
5)Push the 'button' in the hand wheel in so one end of it will pop out (this will stop the needle from going up & down while you're winding the bobbin)
6)Start pressing the foot pedal slowly and things should start to work.
