Due to obligatory special sertificate for driver installation under WIndows 7 all Futura updates are delayed. As soon as Singer will break through beaurocratic procedures all updates will be released, firstly for newer models, then for older.

There are now several versions of the basic Futura software and AutoPunch available on the market. The most current is version 1.0.0.2. To determine what version of either software you have, you will find this information around the inside rim of the CD at approximately 4 o'clock. Before loading any of the Options into your computer, check the version and then follow the steps below. The following steps will update your software so that you will now have the latest 1.0.0.2 version of the basic program and all options.

To load base software 1.0.0.0 with AutoPunch 1.0.0.0 or base software 1.0.0.1 with Autopunch 1.0.0.1

• You must use bobbin part number 085128. This bobbin is specifically designed for the Futura CE-100 and CE-200.
• Load Base software (have machine set-up for embroidery with USB connected to both machine and computer - machine turned OFF)
• Turn on Futura machine and double left click on Futura icon to open program
• Close program and turn off the machine
• Install Autopunch and leave the CD in the tray
• Download appropriate update for Windows Version from the Futura-Support.com updates and save to desktop
• Double left click on the desktop download icon to install update
• Turn on Futura machine and double left click on Futura icon to open program
• Type in the Access code from Autopunch jewel case and then left click on the check mark to open program

Unfortunately you need an 240AC to 110AC adapter for this kind of equipment (try **** Smith). A plug adapter does nothing to change voltage it just lets the plug fit the power point, this is ok for some smaller electronic devices that are built to automatically sense the voltage. There is usually a sticker in small print on the device that will tell you what voltages it will take. I can't tell you whether its been damaged, but by going by your description it doesn't sound good. You can try an AC to AC adapter but it may not work now. I'd ask the supplier for a replacement as they should have known that Aus is 240V.

Look for the buttonhole lever, just in front of the presserlever, on the lefthand side of the machine. Pull it down and push it back to the top. Good Luck

IF YOUR WINDOWS 7 UPDATED TO 64 BIT, THE SOFTWARE WONT WORK ANYMORE

I have a Futura, different model but im sure the same instructions. You have to put the software that came with it on your computer. If you dont have it you can download it from the Singer website. Once you have the program on your computer you must have the USB cord plugged into the machine and your computer. Turn your machine on, then open the program on your computer. You must ALWAYS do it in this order. It will not allow you to open the program without being plugged into the machine. You can however plug it in, open the program and then unplug it from your computer and still work inside the program. Once you have your design ready you want to make sure you use good stabilizer specific for embroidery. Make sure to stretch your fabric tight inside the hoop and place it on the machine. Then all you have to do is tell it to transmit to the machine and press the start button! I use mine all the time and love it! Once you figure it out it is easy and so smooth that you can walk away while it is doing its thing! Good luck!!

Wow, I finally get to have a solution.
1. Turn the machine off.
2. Remove the hoop.
3. CAREFULLY slide the bar on the embroidery unit to the left.
4. CAREFULLY slide the piece where the hoop attaches toward you.
5. Turn on the sewing machine. The machine should take the unit to "standby" with a click.
6. Attach the hoop with the power on.
7. Exit the Futura program.
8. Restart the software.
This "should" fix the problem, however, you may have to repeat this process more than once to get it to "stick".

This problem is with VISTA 64 bit. You need to load Vista 32 bit on your laptop. There are no 64bit drivers for the Futura CE 250. You will probably find this problem with other software too that doesn't specifically support 64 bit OS.

I would suggest you do not buy it. I would buy if they let me bring in my software and machine to test before purchase. My experience tells me it wont work because of drivers for the machine. Buyer beware! If they do not allow the test do not buy!

You can only use the futura software, autopunch, hyperfont and cross stitch

try changing the needletry rethreading the machine top -make sure to use every threadguide & bobbin--make sure the bobbin is turned the right way in the bobbin caseclean under the needle plate & in the bobbin area for lintalso try turning the machine off & then back on & see if that will help
