How do I adjust my bobbin tension
The problem probably comes from not threading the top of the machine correctly. Take a look here: http://www.picturetrail.com/sfx/album/view/22521551 especially at the last pair of photos. The blue tangled thread is on the top of the machine, the red thread in the bobbin. Set the top tension to about 3-4, and rethread from scratch, this time with the presser foot raised. This causes the tension disks to open so the thread can get between them When you drop the presser foot to sew, the top thread is then tensioned and won't make loopy messes.

Needle will not pick up the bobbin thread.
Could the needle be inserted incorrectly? Typically, the flat of the needle shank goes to the back of the machine. Are the needles the correct type for your machine?

Not pulling the materioal thru
Look at your manual, or look around the base of the machine. There is an option to drop the feed dogs. This stops the pulling through action of the machine. You just have to flip a switch. This is normally what is happening.

How do you put the thread for the needle for a singer sewing machine model 132q?
Put spool of good quality thread on the spool pin.
Thread comes off spool counterclockwise.
Raise your presser foot before you do the next steps:
Presser foot lifted up now? Great!
Pull thread tail from spool toward you and hold thread taut as you put it into first tension disk.
Have that thread nice and taut? We shouldn't have any loops hanging down over the machine--okay,
Keep threading all of the tension disks. You should be able to actually "feel" the thread fall into slots somewhat.
Now when you get to that long silver thing with the hole in the top this is called your thread take-up lever. It should be all the way UP. Turn hand wheel- ( large round knob at end of right-hand side of machine) towards you if need be to raise it.
Pull that thread taut from RIGHT to LEFT through the hole in the take-up lever.
Take deep breadth here... You're almost done!
Pull thread down left side of lever til you get to next disk.
Put thread in small bracket located behind needle.
Bring thread forward --get yourself 6" of thread-- then put it from front to the back of the eye of the needle.
Are you okay? Hope I was able to help.
