Singer Quantum XL-1000 Computerized Sewing Machine Questions & Answers
Installing embroidery hoops on Singer Quantum XL-1000
First turn off the XL-1000 and remove the auxilliary bed. Attach the embroidery bed and push the lever on the front of the bed to the right. Switch to the embroidery presser foot. Thread the machine with the appropriate embroidery thread and bobbin thread. Set up the embroidery hoop. Turn on the machine. Lift the presser foot to the highest position. Slide the embroidery hoop under the presser foot such that the key on the hoop goes into the slot on the embroidery bed.
The directions for setting up the hoop are given in the manual for the Quantum XL-1000. Singer has most of their manuals here:
https://www.singer.com/support .The current link to the manual is
https://www.singer.com/sites/default/files/product_manual/1259_xl-100_0.pdf . The section on embroidery starts on page 54 (page 56 of the PDF). Page 57 has the information on securing the hoop to the embroidery frame.
I hope this helps.

My LED screen on my Quantium xl 1000 in not aligned properly
Check to see if there is some sort of Touch Screen Calibration mode that you can use. I'm not familiar with that model, so I don't know what menu items you have available. Is there a Utilities function? That might be where something like Touch Screen Calibration would reside.Another thing that I just thought of is you might have a dead battery for the settings. Some devices have a battery that keeps a voltage applied to a chip that contains settings information. If the battery has died (too old), the settings may have been erased. Data such as Touch Screen Calibration values would be stored in this memory. These batteries usually keep the memory alive for several years, but they eventually wear out. More modern devices keep this info in Flash memory that does not need a battery. Screen calibration is usually done at the factory when the machine is manufactured.
Singer Quantum XL 1 red button not working
You can purchase the service manual from Sewing Parts Online. If your model is not listed, just email or phone them and they can get it for you.
Just offhand, it sounds to me like he accidentally unplugged the connector that runs it on the motherboard. If so, it's a very easy fix -- the motherboard is under the display and you can often see it by removing the bottom cover (the base). All of those plugs only plug in the right way, and only ONE plug will fit the correct connector.
Why doesn't the machine pick up the bobbin?
You may have fuzz in your bobbin case or under the plate. If you have canned air, spray it out. Are you using a pre-wound bobbin or one you wound yourself. I've found pre-wounds to be the best. Make sure your thread is pulled thru the bobbin case correctly and your needle up top is threaded correctly too. It's real easy to miss either one. Also, be sure to use a good backing when using fuzzy fabric. What size needle are you using. Too small of a needle may cause this also. For standard embroidery or sewing usually use an 11. Hope maybe this will help. Kindest regards,
Jody
How do you oil the singer xl.1000
please read the instruction menu for oiling area. a small plastic bottle singer oil can be purchased at joanne fabric shop or any department store carries fabric. if you can't find the menu booklet, a drop of oil should be enough on all moving mechanism. don't over do it. best way is move the pulley where the belt is attached. see the movement for all moving mechanism. then one drop oil should be enough. be sure clean out the dust in general are by using vaccum cleaner before lubricating the macjine. do not oil the belt, otherwise will lose friction and slip when sewning. hope this will help. bob
When your sewing or embroderying the auto cutter will not cut
If it means a great deal to you, you CAN have it repaired, but it will mean that you will have to send it away. There are two repair centers that I know of that will repair this line of machines; they are probably the most complicated that Singer ever put out.
One is in the midwest, and the other is Atlanta Sewing Machine Company, in Atlanta, GA. While you can download the authorized repair centers from Singer, make sure that they can repair YOUR machine. Quite a few only work with mechanical machines, and only a few work on embroidery machines. Of those, fewer still can work on the XL-1000, -5000, and -6000.
The touch screen on my singer quantum xl-1000 lights up but no icons are showing. What should I do?
I have instructions for recalibrating the screen on an XL-6000, which is similar enough that it should work; however, give it a try at your own risk. I would point out, though, that at this point you probably have nothing to lose.
While the machine is turned off, you hold down the scissors button, reverse button, and the green/red light button all at the same time. While pressing these buttons, you turn your machine on and can let go of the buttons. You take the pointy end of your lint brush and use it as a stylus to touch a little red dot on the screen (that also has that pen looking thing that I had messed with and that caused my trouble), the dot will move to another position and you will touch it again. It moves again two more times, and each time you will touch it with the pointy end of the brush. Then you will touch the treasure chest box on the screen to save what you did. You will then turn off the machine and turn it back on, and then things work again!
How do I reset a singer quantum xl 1000?
Mine did that also and I had to take it back to where it was purchased and they had to get another motherboard for me. I had owned it for over a year so it was not warrantied. :( Best of luck!
