Serger wont budge..hums when step on foot pedal
Motor is locked down. Do Not Energize! take to factory certified service repair person. You will burn up motor or even worse "start a fire" if you try to run it. something is binding motor, this could be many different things.

Handwheel does not work on serger
It sounds like you have a bent needle bar, to replace go online and you will see that they are about $20. but be sure before you change it that you mark exactly where your needle clamp sits or else your timing will be messed up

My left needle keeps breaking
Could be: Wrong needle size for fabric: The presser foot is not the correct one for the type of stitch you want to sew: The needle clamp screw is loose. Hope this helps.

Looking for the factory sitting for the tenisons
thread tensions are only a guide
you have to adjust the needle and bobbin tensions your self to suit the thread thickness being used.
one setting is not the same for different materials and threads.
correct tension is when the upper and lower threads are meeting in the centre of the material being sewed.

I have broken the pressure foot shank and can not find a partnumber
I went to the Singer Sewing Machine site, and was able to download the parts list for your machine. Parts lists are tedious to do through, but it's the only way to insure that you get the correct part(s). Here's the direct link to download the PDF. http://parts.singerco.com/CPpartCharts/14_CG_J_SH_T/14SH644_14SH654.pdf
I often order parts through Sewing Parts Online; you will have to call them if the part is not listed as being in stock, but they're very nice about ordering for you, and they're prices are reasonable. You might also want to order the service manual from them at the same time--it's well worth it. If nothing else, it will tell you the correct order for taking the covers off, and that alone can save you a lot of grief and aggravation, as well as, of course, a lot of time.

My serger won't stitch
Be sure you have new needles inserted correctly, threaded in order loopers then needles, check with diagram on machine or in manual to be sure correct. Still not working usually a sign of timing problem. Requires technician trained on serger repair.

SERGER HAS BEEN RETHREADED AND HAS A NEW NEEDLE
Serger thread breaks1. Is the serger threaded correctly?2. Is the needles inserted correctly?3. Is one of the needles bent or damaged?4. Is the tension adjusted too tightly?5. Is the tension adjusted to accommodate thickness of thread being used?6. Are you using inferior quality thread?7. Is the thread feeding off the cone/spool freely?8. Is the needle size correct for the type of fabric being used?9. Are the needles being used the correct one for the serger?10. If all of the above suggestions don't help then the serger needs to be checked for a timing problem at a sewing machine repair shop.
