White sewing machine. The control for the feed dog pressure isn't working, how do I fix it?

It has most likely seized due to lack of oiling. Apply a couple drops of liquid Tri-Flow Synthetic Lube to the feed dog mechanism and then direct hot air from a handheld hair dryer into the internal mechanism. Alternate lube & air--may take several times over several days. Eventually, it may loosen. Do not force the feed dog knob, but wiggling it may loosen things. ...

My White sewing machine will no longer sew. It makes no sound at all when I use the foot pedal. It will not respond at all. Is it the foot pedal and does it have total control over the machine?

Most handy guys and girls have a voltage tester (meter or a light) that can determine if your foot control is allowing any power through. If it is fried, it may be a contact arm inside it, and you can have your local handy guy repair it or splice any old controller onto your machine plug. Or order a replacement on eBay. *Make sure your outlet is turned on - test with another electric device like a light or radio.

I need help with a white sewing machine model 765 I can't get it to sew it doesn't pick up the bobbin thread

First thing to try is a brand new needle. A bent/damaged needle may not be able to pick up the bobbin thread. Otherwise, it is possible it has a timing issue, ie the needle is arriving at the bobbin at the wrong time in order to connect with the bobbin thread. Search the internet web sites and videos. There is a lot of information on how to fix sewing machine timing. Or take it for service. ...

Machine will not sew fast

Have you performed any recent cleaning and oiling? If not, that is probably the basis of your problem. The machine is seizing because the lubrication has dried and is preventing the parts from moving. Consult your owner's manual, use ONLY fresh good quality sewing machine oil and apply 1-2 drops each place as instructed in the manual. If your machine is mechanical, you can open the top and bobbin area, gently hand rotate the handwheel toward you, and watch where metal rubs on metal and apply 1-2 drops of oil each place. Do NOT oil plastic, belts, or decorator stitch cams. Then SLOWLY run your machine to get the oil distributed. It should loosen up after the machine has run for a few minutes. You should oil the hook/shuttle every time you install a new bobbin, do a complete cleaning and oiling every 40 hours of sewing time or (if the machine is in storage) every 6 months. ...
