Yes. I have owned my White 834D serger for over 20 years! I got mine from a dealer with a Workbook and a Manuel plus about 8 specialty feet for $800. I love it and it does everything! It does do a rolled edge. 3-thread rolled edge is made with only the right needle installed. Pull the stitch finger knob towards you to align it with the red line on the needle plate.

The oil you have is probably 5 yrs old and has turned dark. If so, throw it out and buy a new bottle. Apply only a couple of drops of oil in each spot according to the instructions. Oil collects dirt and lint, so if you use too much, your serger will be more difficult to clean when debris sticks to the excess oil. Clean and oil your serger frequently to keep it running well. When you become familiar with the sound of your machine, you will recognize when it starts to make more noise than usual and know that it needs some TLC....

A FRIEND GAVE ME A SUPERLOCK 2000 WITH THE SAME PROBLEM. THE HANDWHEEL WAS HARD TO TURN AND MACHINE WONT RUN WHEN PLUGGED IN. I OPENED THE SIDE COVER WHERE HANDWHEEL IS LOCATED. FOUND THE BELT WAS DRIVEN OFF THE MOTOR. PUT ON THE BELT ON THE MOTOR, OILED THE MOVING PARTS.

Hi there's free White overlocker/serger manuals via the Singer website, strange as it may seem. Look under Singer's "Support and Resources" then select "Instruction manuals" , or follow this link: http://www.singerco.com/support/instruction-manuals On the Instructions Manual page you'll see it says "Find Your Manual - Step 1, Step 2 etc etc" and under that there's a search box that says "Model Number" Into this search box just type "w" (don't type "white", because that doesn't work) You'll be taken to a near incomprehensible results page but scroll down and you'll see one listed as "WSL234d, WSL234DE" Just click the button "Free download" to the right of the lists, and it will open a PDF file of the manual.
