Where can I get a manual for a white 1418 model.

I don't know about websites that show you how to thread this specific machine.
You could try looking for a video on www.youtube.com
Search for videos using the terms threading white sewing machine.

The thread from the needle keeps breaking

rethread the machine
check the top tension-try 3 or 4
change needle & make sure the needle is inserted correctly

some time the needle & thread don't work togeather--try this
Cut 6-8 inch piece of thread of the spool you are going to use for your project
Take the needle you are going to use for the project
& insert the thread thru the eye of the needle
& lift one end of the thread to a 45 degree angle
& if the needle is the right size for the thread it will slide down the thread
But if the needle hangs on the thread you need one size larger needle for the thread

When I sew, the topstitch looks fine but when I

clean under the needle plate where the feed dogs are for lint
also clean in the bobbin area for lint or loose threads
also check the top thread tension--try 3 or 4
rethread the machine top thread & bobbin
make sure the bobbin is wound correctly- if it's not wound correctly it will cause sewing problems
also change the needle

How do you thread the

Insert the needle with the flat side of the needle shank facing towards the back. The thread is inserted into the needle from the front of the eye through the back.

I looked at your manual at www.singerco.com for free and I don't see where is does blind hemming. It only mentions rolled hem. Not all machines do blind hemming especially if they are old.

The needle will not move

Can you move it by moving the hand wheel ? Might need a thorough clean and oil, look for thread jammed in a guide; good luck

W1409 model, I need a

You can google, tias, relics and they have a service manual for White & dometic generic and it would help you. It costs $21. but maybe a better way would be to go to www.sewingpartsonline.com and buy the part for $19. with the directions, and they will be able to tell you how to do it. It must have had a problem to begin with, so it may not work if you get it back on. Good luck, but I think I would opt for the new part, if it were me.

Have been trying to adjust the bobbin pick up and

try to rethread top and bottom, and make sure the thread is seated in the top tension disc. I have owned a few Whites and had a lot of timing issues with them

Teeth do not move material forward when sewing

the problem is the feed dog is in the wrong position,, in the operation manual it should tell where the feed dog is on that sewing machine, & what position it's suppose to be in to sew normally
