Only copiers fitted with a duplexing unit will automatically make a double sided copy. I assume yours does not have this accessory.
You can always make two sided copies manually. You need to first work out the paper path, so mark one piece of paper with an arrow showing the top and the direction the sheet was placed on top of the paper feed tray. Make a copy and you will now know whether the top or bottom of the paper as loaded gets printed on. Now place that sheet back in the paper feed tray again with the arrow face down in the paper tray, but still pointing in the same direction as before. Print side two and you will now have a double sided copy. If the reverse of the copy is facing the wrong way then you know that the paper needs to go into teh paper tray with the arrow facing you. Hope this makes sense, but it just needs a couple of trial runs to get to understand which was round to put the paper back in for the revers side to be printed. Always keep the final successful double sided copy, marked up for future reference, as it is so easy to forget which way to put the paper back in several weeks later.

if you are trying to clear the service/maintenance counter press 10871087 which will enter service mode type 251 and select clear using up/down keys then the start button. this will clear your maintenance counter. hit stop key 2 times the up arrow to 001 and start key. this will restart the machine. hope this is what you were looking for.

C710 Toner sensor problem
• The sensor output voltage is outside
the range of 0.5 to 4.5 V during toner control.
• The toner sensor control voltage cannot be set within the setting range when maintenance item U130 is run.

Try removing and refitting drum and toner.
if this does not help you may have damaged your toner cartridge or the sensor

Don't panic ! the copier has just reached the number of copies to display the message. There are parts inside that are only good for so many pages. Depending on what has reached the number it might mean slightly degraded copies or it will rub out of toner or perhaps a waste toner storage is full.
Basically the only time it is a emergency is when smoke is coming out of these.
