Bulova Chronograph Marine Star #96B99 watch - Answered Questions & Fixed issues

I have the exact same issue with the minute hand resting at the 1 minute mark and now I have condensation under the glass. The watch is only 2 months old so I think I will return it.

I was unable to find the model 96B106 in their range but I did find 98B106. I this is the watch you have, then go to http://www.bulova.com/watches/bulova/marine-star/98b106/ and download the usermanual.

Try to advance hands for full circle more (12 hrs more). If this does not work, then you will have to find your nearest watch repair shop, because one of the date change gear wheels is faulty.
Rate me, plz.

You didnt have a manual when you purchased the watch? That is very odd...I would see if you could go back to store and get one.
If thats not possible, contact Bulova at this link

You can get instructions from their web site by going to http://www.bulova.com/service/servicecenter.aspx and finding your watch in the list.

Advance your watch 12 hours, the date changes every 24 and it sounds like you are 12 off.

Your gear train is jammed and you have to find your nearest watch repair shop and ask for professional attention as this job needs quite a lot of watchmaking skills.

This is merely a video on how to reset the second hand on your Marine Star.

But perhaps it has some information that will be helpful to you.

I just got a M.Z. Berger AW206 366 so the setup should be identical.
The watch has four buttons total. I'll name then by their positions. Top Left (TL), Top Right (TR), Bottom Left (BL), and Bottom Right (BR).
(BL) is your mode switch. Press it once at a time to toggle between modes, (Time, Chronograph, and Alarm). From the Time mode press (BL) three times. This will put you back in time mode with the seconds flashing. Press (TR) to toggle seconds back to '00'. Press (BR) to toggle to the next setting point, and (TR) to advance it. Just keep pressing (BR) until all the settings points are the way you want them. Note: In time setting mode it only advances the setting forward when you press (TR). So when using it to change hours display for 12/24 hour display or daylight savings time you just have to keep advancing the hour until it shows up correct. There is no DST or 12/24 display toggle on this watch. You just have to change the hours display manually. To exit time setting just press (BL) once.

Take your Bulova watch to a jeweler who will demonstrate how to open the back.

Maybe "Bulova" have "Energy save mode" like my "Casio ProTrek"? Both models are quartz movement. When I don't wearing my watch he go sleep after 1 day and wake up when I pick up.

If there is a dead battery in the watch, when it is opened, that is one way to identify the battery size.

A second way, if no battery left in it, is to go to a local jeweler or watch battery replacement kiosk at the shopping mall.

Third, contact Bulova at phone number shown:

Contact a jeweler.

FIXYA unpaid volunteers seriously would not be able to appraise them through the internet. It will result in many more unanswered questions with little detail to assist anyone. In my case, I have an old watch from my grandfather - can you tell me if it is worth anything and how much? (How can that question be answered without being rude?)

You can use http://www.google.com to search for more information, and perhaps check for an appraiser.

Another approach is to search http://www.ebay.com and see if the model name you enter appears for sale anywhere.
