Digital display of phone is missing characters/digits. Example: When dialing the number "8" only LEFT SIDE of "8" is visible - it looks like "3" instead of "8".

Need 9V adapter for GE phone. Checked all over this AM [Best Buy/Radio Shack...] need one with a longer pin connector; none had one to fit a GE Model 29290C phone.

I cheated. I got a new adapter the right voltage and everything but the plug in would not fit so I cut the end off the old one and the end off the new one put the old end on the new adapter..I soldered them together, Taped them with light tape and it works perfect.

I have GE Model 28118 6.0 and the manual. However, when I am talking on this phone and someone else tries to call me, instead of them getting a busy signal, my phone goes to voice mail. How can I ch

On these types of systems, that's part of what voice mail is for...to catch your caller rather than just issue a busy signal. If you have call waiting, then your phone should give you a tone when another call comes in so you can answer it and put it on hold and return to the original call. Only if you don't respond to the call waiting tone will the phone then go to voice mail. If you don't want the voice mail to take calls when you are present, you most likely will need to turn off your voice mail when you are present. Then, if there is no voice mail to fall back to, the phone will give a busy signal.

Need an Adapter [9VDC] for this model, can't find

They all are pretty much the same..any 9 volt should work..see if you can find how much MA power your origional has.would be something like MA400. MA500. Etc. the more MA the longer the charge will last..JUST MAKE SURE IT IS NINE VOLTS.. GOOD LUCK

How do I ge my number to be displayed on my outgoing calls

In order for your number to appear on telephone Caller ID (CID) display screens, the person you're calling must subscribe to CID service AND you must have a published phone number (that isn't being "blocked"). Some phone companies allow published numbers to be selectively blocked on a per call basis or on all calls until the block is removed. If your information is being broadcast incorrectly or not at all, you should contact your phone service provider.
