I have a GE Front Loader. Model# GHDVH670H1GG.

On my machine the pump filter was clogged preventing the water from draining out of the machine properly. This would leave the clothes soaked in water as the machine tried to spin, the extra weight caused the drum to rub against the door seal while spinning, causing the burnt rubber smoke! I removed the 3 screws on the lower fron panel of the machine and opened the drain ( make sure you have a pan or bucket to catch the water! ) cleaned the fliter and put everything back. Works like new again. Good luck.

GE Washer, Model GBVH5140HWW.

The seal is likely not installed correctly. What is happening is the latch for the lock is trying to hook and it is being blocked so it doesn't actually lock. After so many tries the machine goes into an abort mode where it washes out all the water and stands by for it to be fixed. If you put some pressure on the door (closing it) while it is trying to lock, it likely will lock and then run. It is basically an adjustment issue. It is also possible that something with the lock mechanism is broken or out of adjustment causing the leaking to begin with and that is actually the area that needs attention rather than replacing the door seal. Door seals rarely fail unless they are physically damaged somehow.

GE WSXH208FWW washer leaving spots on clothes

If you are getting round dark spots on your clothes after washing, the problem would be cause by a bearing seal leak. What happens is water leaks pass the seal into the bearings, and the grease leaks back into the wash water. To fix it would require the machine to be literally taken completely apart to get to the bearings. Very costly to repair. Sorry.

Disconnect power to machine,
Drain all the water you can.
Remove the bottom access panel ( 3 screws on bottom plate)
open the large plastic filter in center
have a tray and towels to catch the water,
remove all clogging material,
look in with a light and turn the pump , it should turn freely.

Wssh300g2ww won't drain

Tip this on its side and look from underneath. You should be able to see better what is holding it on there. Every washer is different and everyone makes you swear when working on it.

I have a admiral washing machine aav7000aww clothes deep coming out wet and had to be spun again. How making noise could this problem be caused by a bad bearing on the pump? The machine seems to be

Yes, the pump should turn pretty easily. Mechanical pumps are generally pretty tuff though. Does it feel ballsy at all when you turn it? It should feel smooth, but it shouldn't spin fast like a top either. Of coarse, if it's quiet in your hand it should be quiet on the machine. Make sure you check the hoses that you removed from the pump. There could be a sock or bra underwire stuck in the one coming from the tub. You might even try shining a flashlight up the hose and see if you can see it from the inside of the inner basket. A sock can be between the inner and outer tub but covering the drain hole. They make a racket and cause other chaos. With the pump off it's the perfect time to get it out before it moves to an unreachable spot, that requires dismantling. Check the basket closely with a nice bright light, if it's really jambed in there you may see it poking thru the basket holes. Let me know what you find.

My GE front loading washer will not drain the water

Try cleaning the filter, too.  The bottom front panel on your washer should come off by removing 3 screws.  We found a bunch of junk (it was full of lint, change, and other gross stuff).  Make sure to check back up in the hose if you can, too.  Our filter was so full, the lint and junk was backing up into the hose.  That worked for us and saved us a service call.  Hope this helps.  There is another problem, similar to yours, posted on this website with a lot more information and a bunch of testimonials (mine included).  You might want to search for that one to get more info.

Washer won't drain or run thru any cycles.

It is possible that the machine does not start off the cycle because there are errors due to feedback from the inputs. For the program to start up the main program controller must initiate the INLET/MOTOR/DRAIN pump/ valve to open up and allow each function to be driven starting from the flow of water into the drum as also the drain valve to open to exit the water at the point of the program cycle. If this does not happen then the voltage at the valve/motor/pump must be checked or the fault relates to no voltage from the controller. This means the controller is a suspect.

If the water flows though the inlet then the flow pressure should be good, if not the inlet valve is bad or there is dirt in the filter. Also check the flow at the inlet of the water line. Once the water comes into the system the WATER LEVEL SENSOR - normally a pressure switch- must activate at the preset/chosen level to give the signal to the program controller to switch on the motor. What is most important for the motor to start functioning is that the door switch must be ON when the door is shut or this will be an error for starting the motor for rinse and wash.

Check this link to replace the inlet valve:

http://www.espares.co.uk/advice/washing-machines/a/7/1408/how-to-replace-the-inlet-valve-on-a-washer-dr.html

Finally after the wash the drain valve will be activated, the water is allowed to come in to rinse and then finally the dry spin with the drain valve/pump activated so as to drain off all the water from the clothes during the spin.

THANK YOU. for those of you with a screw driver, here are the photos on how to.

It takes a philips screw driver and 20 minutes. The white screws may not align perfectly but don't worry, just get them to go back in the hole(no harm done).

I'm going to admit it was my wife that found this fix, so now I give the step by step photos.

Hi

Thanks for using FixYa. You’ll need to clean the filter which is located on the front bottom of the washing machine right below the washer window. It is held up by three screws. Take out the screws and clean the lint. You’ll find in the lint some small clothing, coins and other small things.

Please do rate the solution and revert for further assistance.

Thanks
