Hit the lightening bolt on the pad then decide on one and hit the "ok" button. If this doesn't help then look for the manual (google search Nikon Coolpix s3500 manual) Hope I helped :)
I ACCIDENTALLY DROPPED MY NIKON COOLPIX S3500 ITS WORKING BUT THE SCREEN IS PINK - CAN YOU HELP
All is not well, there are small flat cables with tiny connectors inside your S3500, I suspect one has been jarred and is only partly attached to it's connector. It's a nice camera but I'm not sure it's economical to repair. What you could do is attempt a DIY repair or even an Infrared conversion, on most of these cameras going into the camera "deep" enough to make the conversion will also reattach most of the cables as you put things to right at the end of the process of conversion. Note that if you don't have a clue on how to accomplish such a thing or where to look up the process it probably is not for you. A used replacement S3500 won't set you back much (and your cards, batteries and accessories will work if you elect to go that route).
When I connect my Nikon Coolpix S3500 camera to my computer, I am unable to transfer images to the computer.
Try NOT connecting your camera to your computer.
The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.
Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use any photo management program such as Picasa.

Check your SD card, many have a write protect setting, if the slider has been moved them camera will see the card as full. If that is not the solution try your spare SD card (you have a spare, right?). If there is no joy with both cards then the card reader in the camera is having issues.
