this is most often seen when the default drawer is disabled...dashes instead of paper size. to reset drawer try touching 10871087 then 906 and the start button this resets the disabled drawer. also make sure no paper is stuck behind the drawers.

Open the left cover. check on your left there is a connector if it is cnnected if notinsert the connector , if connected enter 1087, 1087 machine shows U000, press 906 then start , scroll to execute then press start to enable dissabled function.

I would check the connection to the main board as a backup error code can be caused by intermittant connectors.

Question edited for a lot more clarity. Question moved to Kyocera. Nothing to do with a fax card, just make sure the back door is closed. It is normally called the 'Bypass Door' and gives card stock a flat run.
