The squirrel cage and heat elements were filled with dust. It was not easy taking apart but now i know to only take the bottom off. thanks
I have a Dimplex Electric
There is a safety bi-metal strip that is probably tripping out. Does it turn back on after a cooling down period ?
Flame does not flicke in
if flame not flickering and you can see the globes lighting flame its the fan that moves the ribbons is faulty unless it has fuse to it which may have blown, but how the flame works is by globes lighting through ribbons that are moved by a fan to give a flicker effect unless its rotating glass wheel like some, that turn with the globes behind that give you a flickering effect its always better with electrical to have an electrician look if it was the globes yes that is an easy replace but to change a fan or rotating glass wheels
Need instructions to remove fan
Hi!!
This procedure to replace the flame motor applies to Dimplex Compact Electric Fireplaces.
If the fireplace was operating prior to servicing allow at least 10 minutes for light bulbs
and heating element to cool off to avoid accidental burning of skin.
Disconnect power before attempting any maintenance or cleaning to reduce the risk of
electric shock or damage to persons.

Light went out in fireplace
have you checked the globes in heater or it may be a fuse if your a bit unsure where these parts are call a service agent
Heater turns on and clicks right off no fan
Take unit apart and thoroughly clean ( vaccum out) the fan area. if it is dirty you should blow out accumulated dust from the same area, if the fan does not turn freely the unit will overheat and shut down
