jsut about all the computer now when the computer boots hold down the f12 and then choose the usb drive to boot. if it does not show the usb drive yo might hav to go into the cmos and change the settings. then again it if is aold computer then it might not have that option

You can try the following steps,

• Turn off the notebook
• Disconnect the power cable
• Take out the battery
• Press the power button for 15 secs (to drain out static electricity)
• Connect the battery back on the notebook
• Connect the power cable
• Turn on the notebook

Note: You may also check if the light on adapter is on (if there is any) and the light where the power cable connects to the notebook is glowing. If the light is not glowing it is the adapter which went back.

format it and reinstall OS (if freeze means Hanged frequently) but first check the heat level. some time system got hanged because of overheating/faulty RAM or overloaded software (which consumes lot of memory. if every thing is ok and you are using internet without gud anti virus then possibility of affected or corrupted OS is higher.
