Hello Friend, There is a sound driver problem in your laptop. Install a sound driver from a driver CD given by manufacturer if it is not provided then go to the manufacturers web site n download drivers then install it. After install restart your PC n check for sound.

It could be a video problem, but most likely it is a backlight ptoblem.

Right click on My computer or (Computer) click manage ,pass security control (up from vista) ,select disk managment and enable your disk.
